Location was great as it is located just in the center of the town. Having in mind that the town is very small it is convenient to be close to the pub or restaurant. Of course you can't compare the price to other hotels. This one is a bargain if you just need a bed for a night or two. The room was clean throughout and it was cleaned every day.
They didn't have their own car park as the guy at the reception didn't know where the key from the gate was. I was also told that remote control for TV was lost by the cleaner - hence no TV.
Clean, helpful staff.
No wifi pasword published Payment used a prepaymant for multiple guest
Single room suffers from noise at weekends as its a lively pub with the entrance beneath the window
The staff members had no idea of our booking. Manager had to be spoken to via telephone. No keys to room. Key pad entry. To secruity door and room door. Numbers printed on inch sq puece of paper. Shower pointless.
bed is comfort coffee and hot drinks are fine
the wifi is not strong enough to work inside rooms. it was really bad, and I had difficulty to use it. the room is too small(Room 10)
No hot water. I had to boil water in the kettle to wash. Noise from disco on Friday night.
Location was great right on the main town center. Price was good and the Girl who checked me in was very friendly and helpful.
On the downside, if you was expecting to get to sleep before 3am on a Sat, then you might have trouble. The nightclub at the back of the Pub was outside and quite loud. It did'nt bother me but might do to other people. I think this should be made aware when booking
I stay in the hotel on a regular basis as it is very handy for work. It is not the ritz but it is very clean and good value.
Can be bit noisy from the traffic on the road outside.
Great staff.. ideally located! Friendly greeting...
Bit pricey for the facility and quality of the accommodation.. but the cost of drinks and the price of entry into the club helped out a bit...
I like the location as it's central to the surrounding areas I visit.also it is a place I used to live in and so I have a special bond with the place.i always stay at the queens head as it's value for money and fits my budget.
When I first stayed at the queens head the breakfast was included in the price,in recent times the breakfast is an extra £6.95..I believe that it should be included in the price as the last time I stayed there I had to go elsewhere for breakfast on two occasions..overall I paid £35 a night but the first two times I paid around £30 but I got breakfast on those times.on the hole that's the only thing I was disappointed with.
Quick check in and check out.
Separate shower and toilet facilities to room. Tupperware container of tea bags Extremely uncomfortable mattress Laminated codes for door entry. Is this secure? How often are the locks changed? No safe provided. There should be an elastic band or something attached to the card so you can attach it to your keys.
very good value for a room in Ashby. No-fuss check in and out. Good free WIFI and central location
a bit messy getting from car park to hotel
Staff only seen when checking on. No one on departure to hand keys back to. Facilities very old and dated. Comfort was awful the sound from the nightclub was horrendous, it felt like the beds were in the middle of the night club. draft from cracked and unable to shut window. We paid £62 for the night which seemed pretty high compared to the premier inn offering nights from £39.99 which would of been modern, clean and offering a goods night guarantee. The website advertised nights at £25.00 this is what it is worth and nothing more as a travel lodge costs £19 and is basic with far more better quality. Wifi very week.
Straight forward check in and served the purpose we booked it for, a clean room for the night, no hassles
Some of the decor was a bit "economical" and DIY, but the basics were all fine and would not expect more for the money.
No food Communal showers/toilets
No breakfast offered, showers poor, rooms small, couldn't get tv to work, walls thin, windows rotten, combination locks on doors.
The rooms were clean and tidy.
The cocktail lounge and the night club being below our rooms, the police sorting out revellers at 2.30am, the fact that there was no food available not even breakfast although it said on the booking form that this would be available.
History of the area and coach house. In the Main Street. One particular employee who bothered to show some service.......
Steep stairs, no parking within cooee...... But this is no the fault of the building, but the service offered
