The location was convenient for trips into the city. The manager was very obliging and responded efficiently and politely to our complaints. The broken bed, the television that didn't work, the unclean bathroom and the noisy guests during the night during our first stay; and the difficulty finding the basement room through a labyrinth of stairs, doors, corridors and a courtyard while carrying heavy luggage during our second stay. The breakfast consisted of toast and cornflakes.

Nothing it was the worst hotel we have ever stayed in, the hall and stairs needed hoovering really badly, the room was awful, no nice bedding, dirty net curtains , no remote control, no tea bags, no milk and I thought I had a bargin !! We did not even go for breakfast as I thought dirty hotel dirty kitchen Everything, a hostel is probably a better choice and £40.00 down the drain ! Not good

hotel room was basic , we travelled with a child hence booking the family room , once she was in bed our only option was to go to bed ourselves . No side lamp and luckily she is not afraid of the dark as we would have had to leave the bathroom light on , but when you put that light on the nosy extractor fan came on . Only two towels were left in room , do we share after the shower or does one of us go without .The shower tray did not drain as quickly as it filled. Breakfast was very limited you had a choice of cornflakes or toast end of. View would have been stunning if windows were clean , could have sat on balcony but limited seating and you would have to climb over other guests to reach a table. Wish i had known that the city was so far away from this hotel ,( will check thouroughly next time) what i saved on room price was spent on travelling by train , tube , tube , bus and that was after a ten minute walk to nearest station via a steep hill .Coulod go on but limited to three hundred words ........

The day staff is pretty different and calm and cool, trying to be polite just like it should be! Apart from that, nothing else is good! The night staff is more than awful! The first night we arrived they gave us a room literaly in the basement, it was 3 floors down, even my cellphone had no coverage, the basement was still in progress there were cables and ladders everywhere, on the morning we have been woken up by a fire alarm and some guy knocked on the door in 9am and got into the room without asking just because he wanted to check something on the window!moved to another room in 2nd floor, much better, but it is far away from clean and nice.;DO Not stay in the hotel unless you have got no other option!

Very helpful security man called Nick I think helped with luggeage and information about local scene. Very enthusiatic about the future plans for the hotel. Good cornflakes Fitly entrance hall and very dirty fish tank Steps - no disabled access and if there was one, it was not visible Filthy furniture and the left luggage room was untidy Booked a lower ground floor but got the 3nd floor despite disability and advance request Non-properly flushing toilet Shower - look warm water and did not get hot enough for a hot shower after a rain soaked afternoon. Impolite reception staff Check in staff could not find booking and with disability. Rabbit hutch style corridors Rude and unfriendly catering staff Dirty dining tables and Filthy and smelly rag used to wipe tables repeatedly Filthy and unfriendly breakfast table staff - a brief eye contact, little smile and an hello hurts no one New definition of continental breakfast - As Not provided as advertised No fresh milk No choice of milk i.e. semi - skimmed / full fat Toast and warm tea only breakfast Not fresh fruits No choice of fruit drink Back pack / Hostel setting Poor and dangerous carpeting Dirty tea set in room - tea stain and mark of use by previous occupants Back breaking old style and size bed - for double bed TV yes - with you standing holding the Arial to gain poor reception still Limited TV channels Many sub steps - twisted ankles many steps on the way borrowing through the various doors and within the room Offensive smelling drain Constant running tap - difficult to relax Limited toiletries, no shower cap, cotton buds, and one 50p size soap Staff of the hotel badge into the room using own master card key and did not even knock first and this was just after we returned from the warm tea and toast breakfast around 8 am or so Hotel rent rates on display, so the online half price room sale information was misleading. We would have preferred to go up further for an hotel with better facilities etc and pay full price if necessary.

Poor to moderate hotel. Very noisy at night with disco music somewhere in the building. When I asked at reception if there was a room away from the noise I was told "oh no, the noise is everywhere, and will finish at 11.00pm". Only stayed at this hotel due to proximity to work and unavailability of a room in other nearby hotels. Staff pleasant enough but third world standards throughout. Not good value even at £99.00 per night. Can imagine can be truly awful at times.

Leaving the premises!! Im Not one to complain normally, But staff were rude, put in a room that i wouldnt even let a dog stay in, mold all over the curtains, bath, Lights had cardboard around them to hide the wires which had then been painted, Dirty toilet brush lying next to the toilet, was supposed to be a double room and had two single beds pushed together, Tv With no ariel, went to complain and was told i had to wait as he had customers to check in, i said what about the customers already here, so he walked off, saying the Hotel was fully booked, i replied well it wasnt when i booked on Tuesday, then another man gave me another room, this was jus as bad with rusty radiator falling to bits the list could go on, then had a call at 12.20am waking us up asking oh so you have moved rooms then!!! arrgghh

None of the rooms have air condition or even fan. The breakfast is toast, tea/coffee/juice, that's it. No information in rooms as to how to contact reception. During my stay, the nite receptionist was very very rude, he hang up on me while I was speaking to him, I had to use my own fone to contact the reception cos the number wasn't displayed in the room. Never stayed in a hotel as noisy as this one, even when the windows are closed. There is a main road infront of the hotel so if your room, like ours, is facing the hotel then all the noise from cars, buses and pedestrians come into the room. We'll never stay in this hotel again, Absolutely Not!

This is a clean hotel situated in South London which is ideal if you are working to a tight budget or trying to minimise your expenses. My room was equipped with all the facilities for making a hot drink except a kettle.

I absolutely loved the staff, They were all very friendly and very helpful. I read previous comments about how the staff was rude and I do not agree. If you are nice and respectful you will be treated that way. The room was very clean. The location was not that bad for the price of the entire stay. It took about 30-45 minutes on the number 3 bus to get to oxford circus (central london). In general I enjoyed my stay at Queens Hotel. The only things I didn't liked were the floors. When someone walked outside you could hear them walking in the room. The TV lost signal a few times. Not a big deal for me though. The shower didn't have a lot of pressure because it was leaking, but eh, it's ok! :)

Exactly what you expect for the money, a bed and a bathroom. Room clean if slightly worn and dated. Perhaps not up to big name budget hotel standards, but you get what you pay for. Location is very good, nice area with good transport links to Central London - hotel to Victoria or London Bridge in 25 minutes by overground. Definitely budget, so if you are out to impress or care about perfect decor not for you - but these things cost. High occupancy means you may hear other guests but if you just want somewhere to rest your head in London and are not expecting to spend much time in the hotel it does the job.

The hotel looks great from the outside, price was excellent. The staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful and some of the best i've encounted in many years of travel. They are a great bonus to the hotel. The room was in need of updating, the noise from the outside and above wasnt great, a coat of paint is needed. Buffet breakfast was poor and let the hotel down.

If you are booking a school party, if you are working in the area and want to stay in a room with multiple beds or if you are a stag / hen party and want to stay in a room with bunk beds, then this is the place for you. If you just want to stay in a comfortable hotel for the night and not have to fight for a parking space, then we suggest that you choose somewhere else. We booked a room for two people to stay as there was an early interview the next day and requested a quiet room on the booking form - we were given a room next to the elevator doors, with a buzzing light outside (it did have a window). We were then given a second room which had no window, a set of bunk beds and twin beds. We were then given a third room which had a window, two sets of bunk beds and two twin beds. We were then shown to a 'suite' which we could upgrade to for an additional cost of £20, which we took. The suite had a pub table, two conference chairs and two worn seats around a table, the bathroom was clean, there was no reading light and limited light in the room - we realised why, the two glass light fittings where full of dead wasps (around 70), there were dead wasps around the windows and we let two live ones of of the window. In the morning, there was another wasp flying around the room - we had the windows shut tightly during our stay. This room was acceptable, although the name 'suite' is rather misleading!

My room was clean and it was handy for Crystal Palace Sports Centre where my son had an assessment the following day. The staff on duty was not particularly polite or friendly and I had to ask him where the dining room was and what time breakfast was served. The room was for 2 single people - mother and son aged 18. I was given a twin room with bunk beds which I did not feel was appropriate. Breakfast was poor. Cereal and toast only.

It is convenient for my son's house. The hotel has become almost a youth hostel. Staff are helpful but the place can be very noisy. Always ask for a room at the back of the hotel to avoid noise of traffic and parties on ground floor.

We stayed to the Queens Hotel because of the price and the location which was close to the subway station! Finally, comparatively to services offered, the price wasn't fair enough and the subway station was 15 minutes faraway! Carring the suitcases you couldn't walk but you had to take a taxi! (It is on a small mountain)! The breakfast was very poor (only cornflakes and bread with marmelade)! The hotel was very big so the rooms were faraway from the reception and the wi-fi! The personel weren't helpfull but roude! The rooms were dirty and the reception room also very dirty! The rooms were very cold and we went on November ! Finally, the photos show the room have nothing to do with the reality! There is no reason to stay in that hotel! Nothing wasn't good at the end!

It was close to my son, who I was visiting. Central for visits to London attractions When I arrived there were 4 of us in the queue and the receptionist kept taking phone calls so we had to wait whilst he dealt with them. On one morning my cup and saucer were not changed and no replacement coffee/milk was left.
