The bed was comfortable. Room was not up to a standed expected for a executive room eg; only one chair for two people, two coat hangers, two chips in bath, decor spars, you could not pull out the tea tray from the cupboard as the lead to the kettle was too short.breakfast was not value for money and of a poor standed. Staff were not very polite,or helpful. I have been to many hotels across the world and my experience of this one was very dissapointing, in fact it spoilt the week-end.

Quiet location The hotel was slightly run down. Door handle almost coming off, bathroom tap Hardly worked, only one bath towel for two people. Very old style tv with poor picture quality. Breakfast took 40 minutes to arrive when people who arrived after us got serveduch faster. Overall disappointing and poor value.

We liked our room, we were in the new part of the hotel and the room was really nice. Comfortable, warm, clean and modern. Comfortable bed, had the new feeling about it. Good facilities in the room. Having read the reviews, I was concerned about what it would be like, but was impressed. We had a superior room and were also given breakfast vouchers and paid £8.50 each instead of £15 for full English. The shower head was not high enough. It was like the shower was an after thought. Even though it was lovely and powerful, it was in the centre of the bath, and the shower curtain rail was bent, so the curtain wouldn't stay closed. My husband was way taller than the shower head.

We booked in for my brother's surprise birthday meal, which was excellent! Excellent accomodation, but one bath towel for two of us. This is not really a complaint, as I am sure that another towel would have been provided if asked.

Good friendly service. Any issues were dealt with swiftly and competently. During the Saturday there was a wedding at the hotel and I felt that the hotel polled all of its resources to cater for the wedding, somewhat forgetting that other guests are just as important. I waited over thirty minutes for two sandwiches and had to leave to get to my engagement before they were served. My only other issue would be the price of a 1litre bottle of water was almost £6.00.

The standard room was larger than normal and the staff were very friendly. Some of the rooms were too close to the main road, however this was not a major issue.

Nice, traditional hotel. Large room with nice view. Centrally located for local pubs etc. Outdated bathroom. Decor old fashioned. Waited a long time to be served at an empty bar.

rooms were small, hot water didn't work properly neither did TV We were very upset we were not told y staff at breakfast that the breakfast was not included as we assumed it was. Not only was the breakfast not pleasant (cold fried bread, no beans) but it was poor value (£15.99 pp). Had we known, we would certainly not have had the breakfast. This felt like a con The hotel in general seems a bit run down and shabby - needs a refurb

Hotel was very cold while dining for breakfast and dinner. When we checked into room the toilet flusher was broke - hotel fixed on the morning we were leaving and as a result we had to use main toilets. Mobile phone coverage is very poor. Could do with some life and a little added warmth.

Peaceful. Nice little village to get away too. Large variety of places to eat, and a few pubs. Everyone in hotel and village very friendly. Hotel in ideal location, bar and restaurant in hotel (even though did not eat there), lovely old building. Hotel with a bit of character. Also close enough to leicester to go shopping during the day, location also close to loughborough. Found food wrapper in room.

It was exactly as we expected it to be - a country hotel with reasonable facilities The English breakfast was awful. I wasn't given a choice of eggs, and the plate was swimming in oil. I skipped the breakfast on the second day.

The friendly welcome received at check in. The hotel and grounds was extremely clean. Conservatory set out for dining was lovely. Service at breakfast was terrible, we were seated but the menu was not explained, hot breakfast was brought out when we were still eating cereal and we were not asked how we wanted our eggs cooked. Breakfast was also overcooked. The rooms appeared dark and the lighting was not adequate in the rooms. Soap was provided but no soap dish to put the bar into resulting in a messy worktop in the bathroom and soap sliding all over the place. Our bed was uncomfortable but more worrying was the pillows which were flat, uncomfortable and when put over my arm sagged showing that they were very old and used....uugh....in my opinion this hotel was not worthy of its 4 star rating

The location was the main factor although the service was excellent. I would definitely recommend to friends and consider staying at another of your group's hotels should the opportunity arise. The decor was a bit too dark for my liking. Some areas of the hotel looked as though they needed an uplift.
