The breakfast in this day and age should be able to cook Veggie sausages
We were at quorn country on our wedding night and I stayed the night before with friends - the staff couldn't do enough for us - they were exceptionally helpful
The cleanliness did not have enough attention to detail - it felt like it had nit been quality checked after completion (and there were only 8 guests staying on Friday). The restaurant is too closely seated and formal
The orangerie was very pleasant, bright and clean, and the food was very good
The lounge and bar area is very dull, drab and in need of comprehensive redecoration. The carpets were dirty, old and threadbare in places, and generally very dark. Similar criticism is warranted for the bedroom. The un suite bathroom was dirty and not suitable for use.
Lovely grounds beautiful for a wedding.
friendly staff, large comfortable rooms, comfortable bed, very clean hotel.
one of the rooms, in the main hotel, was very hot due to the good weather. Air conditioning not working, but a fan provided
Room was comfortable but not worth the cost as we were in an annex and not actually in the hotel
The food was disgraceful. Not only did they bring the wrong meal to the table, but the fish was full of water and the batter greasy. The breakfast again was covered in water from the poached eggs, which I had to soak up with a towel. gave up after second towel.
close to where we needed to be - quiet and attractive location
wi-fi was a bit random and the facilities are a little "tired" e.g. bathrooms
Clean comfortable spacious rooms and helpful staff
Restaurant was very slow and we were not kept informed. Steaks over cooked and sent back. Took ages to redo and no update. Apologised and said plate had been dropped so all had to be redone. Spoilt meal due to lack if info. Food in the end good
staff friendly and tried but not all well trained
wifi did not work in the room slow service in bar and restaurant meal was not great - raw chips (twice) slow check out and printer (for receipt) was not working room decor gloomy and lights too dim poor mobile reception in area (O2)
a wonderful hotel with a beautiful garden and surroundings
I thought the comfort of the beds was fantastic great nights sleep
We arrived in a nearby village which had the closest train station. We weren't near any shops or facilities to ask for directions so called the hotel and the receptionist booked a taxi for us and called back to confirm how long the taxi would be. Nothing was too much hassle for any of the staff we met during our stay and it made for a great weekend away.
This was only a problem because of the unusually high temperature during our stay BUT the air conditioning unit didn't work as no cool air was circulating our room. It made it really hard to get ready in the morning because we were getting so hot moving about the room.
Most of the staff were great and catered to us brilliantly!
Rude staff at breakfast, no attempt to accommodate to our needs and when asked for more toast, were bluntly told we'd have to wait. Considering the price of breakfast, we felt very unsatisfied after being treated in such a way.
The bed was comfy and the shower was good
Every else was dreadful. The decor is tired and the room smelt of smoke! There is no breakfast menu just the take it or leave it kind. When I tried to ask what they could do that was gluten free the waitress told me everything was cooked in oil! eventually I said she could bring the breakfast and I would leave whatever I couldn't eat but it never arrived. We didn't bother with breakfast the second day. When we complained on checking out there was no offer to reduce the price to reflect the fact that breakfast had never occurred and that executive room with a view looked over the car park. my advice find a Premier Inn it will be better than this.
Room Grounds Location
Greasy food Staffs attitude Staff need training This hotel was a lovely stay for the night and the rooms and grounds seemed clean. We all paid £10 each for breakfast the following morning so we was expecting what we paid for, to our surprise there was only orange and cranberry juice left and a selection of cereals on the side. We asked for an English breakfast, 20 minutes later we was given a plate full of grease, there was fat dripping off the sausages and even the beans was floating around our plates. Yes ok a fry up is a fry up but everything must of been chucked in a deep fat fryer. Something had to be said, it was taken away and returned 10 minutes later and was still disgusting. We left it and went to check out, spoke to the receptionist about our disgust and all we got was 'I will tell the chefs..' Where was the sorry? I asked to speak to the manager, who looked like a waiter to me as he was in the breakfast room breaking down tables and stacking chairs around us. He surprisingly told us he had taken the food back and patted everything down with a towel!! And he also has never had any complaints so he didn't see what the problem was and he had worked with Jamie Oliver and he had a lot of experience .. What's that got to do with anything..? No sorry, no refund, nothing apart from rude comments in return. I have worked in hospitality for many years and been highly trained by feathers hotel group. If I had had that attitude or even spoken to any guests like that, I would of been out the door. New chefs needed, staff need serious training. Cleaners always smiled and said hello, even if they was cleaning a window! The littlest things make a whole lot of difference. I have tried to speak to the main manager but he never seems to be available. Not good enough!!
Great room (eventually) after the first two were either not cleaned or roasting hot. Staff tried very hard to resolve issues. Lovely grounds
The hotel has a work in progress feel to it. It's a bit run down in places but has great potential. One odd thing was having a TV on in the bar but this was drowned out by the background music.
Clean and tidy. Well presented.
Breakfast server could have been a little bit more attentive
Friendly staff was a plus and we were able too book in early
Excellent venue and beautiful grounds. The staff were friendly and very helpful. Apart from the breakfast it was a wonderful peaceful night away and I would stay there again.
The breakfast was a bit disappointing. The fruit platter hadn't been replenished, the selection of meats and cheeses had no cover so they had dried out and half of my cooked breakfast was rock hard like it had been in a warmer for far too long.
The restaurant was very good
We have chosen to stay here a few times for a peaceful, quiet night in a comfortable twin bed with a well maintained en-suite. The staff are pleasant and obliging.
Location was good. Room had a lovely view of the picturesque grounds.
Staying there the night before my wedding and had requested a nice bright suite where I could comfortably get ready on the morning of my wedding. My wedding thankfully was not actually at the quorn country I literally was just getting ready there on the morning. On arrival there was a lot of confusion with the receptionist who eventually managed to locate the 3 rooms for my family & friends that were with me and I understand that they were on the small side but ok. My suite was shockingly bad, it was down a corridor by its self which lead off from the main restaurant and bar area (so in my wedding dress I would have to walk through another wedding which they had taking place there) on top of that the room was very dark, my only view out of the window seemed to be all of the air conditioning units for the hotel which were so noisy and the room definitely wasn't what I would call a suite. I asked to move rooms and the receptionist then called over her manager who explained that there was no better suite and that my only option was to have an executive double and they showed me one that was in a separate conservatory and the view was stunning from the window and the room was lovely and bright which obviously we needed to get ready in the morning so I took this room instead. What I hadn't realised is that leaving the quorn I would be walking right past the window of the wedding taking place in the orangey. (If my wedding venue had slipped up like this and another bride walked past as I was signing the register I would be so upset) My wedding venue later told me that they had taken quorn country off of there recommendations due to the constant mix ups and incompetent staff. Do not stay there if it's an important occasion!!!
Good location, close to Quorn village. Friendly staff
Premium costs and lack of wifi (and phone signal) meant business e-transactions were not possible
I was a bride staying there the night before my wedding and had booked a suite and requested a light lovely quiet room. On arrival the reception staff were very unable to do their jobs and continually mixed up the rooms and seemed very comfused and stressed. My suite was very dark, un kempt and over looked a large air conditioning unit which I would also need to walk through a bar and restaurant to leave rather than the other 'residential corridors' All in all not ideal for a bride in her dress (considering that the hotel had booked two weddings for the day in different rooms of the hotel) and I would have to walk past her bridal party in the morning. Obviously I asked to move rooms but woth no other suites available I had to have a smaller room which awfully I had to walk past another bride signing her register! thankfully my wedding was at the fabulous Prestwold hall so I was able to escape the disorganised quorn country and I will never return!
Excellent attention from staff Location, grounds and proximity to the village
Heating in room insufficient, but we did get a portable heater on request Bath had no high hand rail for when using the shower, making it impossible for my husband to use We were told on arrival that 2 courses of the dinner menu would be c £20, so were a little surprised to be charged £24.95 for a starter and main course
