Exactly what we needed for a local wedding. Clean and efficient.
Breakfast was good and staff were friendly
We stayed in the loft room which just seemed to have had a cheap conversation , paint work unfinished and you had to run the basin tap to get shower to work- this was actually wot the hotel had written down plus shower was hot or boiling hot - very dangerous
A good honest basic hotel . Really accommodating by keeping the kitchen open when we were very late arrivals. Staff very friendly. We'd stay again
A little dated (but better than the clinical feel of a chain)
Good food, very comfortable room, staff very friendly
For b & b it was good value. Service was friendly. Our room was spacious but bathroom could do with updating. Recommendation would depend on to whom the hotel does have a take us as you find us attitude, but is value for money.
The evening meal was disappointing perhaps a smaller menu would be better, with improving the quality. A couple of good wines by the glass would improve experience.
The room was very comfortable and clean. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and suggested a brilliant Italian restaurant where we had dinner.
We had a spatious room, lovely decorated, very clean. The beds were extremelly comfortable. The hotel has caracter and charm, it is clean and nicely decorated. The building has 2 levels and I am not sure if there is a lift. Breakfast room is spacious and welcoming. However, if you are looking for a modern, minimalist layout, this hotel is not for you.
The front and back gardens are lovely, with flowers and mature plants, but need a bit of attention. Also, in my opinion, it would look better if all the potted plants at the entrance will be planted in similar pots.
Good friendly staff. Comfortably and relaxing atmosphere.
clean and tidy Helpful and friendly staff Lovely breakfast Close to the town center
maybe needs updating slightly
Being accused of making noise when we were not
Friendliness of staff and warmth of welcome. Very helpful.
The staff were very friendly plus walk distance to the town centre and to finish off a lovely English Breakfast
Room 19 a buzzing in the bathroom but it wouldn't stop me going back for sure
The hotel is close to the town centre and walkable for a party where we knew we would quite likely have a few drinks. The room size was good and we could relax after a long journey (4 hours).
Confusion over booking a second room for my son (being required to book via Booking.com after a phone booking, resulting in being requested to pay for a second room that we were not using (but which I noticed was let to someone else). Tired old bathroom with dripping tap in basin. Lumpy pillows.
Room was large and comfortable. Staff were friendly.
It was all a bit dated and Fawlty Towers-esque.
We enjoyed our stay it is a lovely hotel central to most areas staff were very helpful pleasant and polite the food was top class would recommend to my friends
The view from our room overlooked a old bath and another table set on the front garden would be better
very friendly staff lovely big comfortable room very cosy bar area tasty food
Friendly and obliging staff.
My bathroom had a damp, unaired smell
friendly and helpful staff comfortable and quiet room good location for us visiting family
the radio on in the dining room at breakfast no comment on the evening meals as we did not eat in the hotel
breakfast was good hotel position within town good car parking free and good allowed access to room before 2pm ( 12.30) tea/coffee in room
one staff member only on a full hotel therefore she was too rushed. view from room was of old bath and toilet ( this could easily been moved out of sight) breakfast time on sunday FINISHED by 09.30 latest.( too early) one side light bulb did not work room only averagely clean. bathroom pink and old fashioned Bar expensive.
Towel rail hanging off wall. Pulled curtains in the morning and the rail fell apart. Could not eat meal in restaurant only in bar.
Easy going manager and staff
Too hot in the room no air con
we stayed for 2 days and the whole time from booking in to checking out was a pleasure. This hotel is a wonderful place with wonderful staff and everywhere is spotlessly clean. It is definitely a high end 3 star AA rated hotel
There is literally nothing to dislike
The space in the room and the fact that there was a large sofa on which to relax. Good welcome from Reception (except for incident detailed opposite in 2.)
1. The dripping cold tap in bathroom of room 33, saggy pillows and rather tired everything. 2. Feeling "ripped off". I booked (on the phone in June from USA) a second room for Mr Benjamin Hammond in conversation with a night porter. When I sent a confirming e-mail (I only had "booking.com" for communications as that is who I heard from after booking for myself and my husband in February on the phone with Quorn Lodge, not an e-mail for Quorn Lodge), I received a reply requesting that I confirm via booking.com website. On arrival at Quorn Lodge on Sat 5th July 2014, I was told that Benjamin Hammond had TWO rooms booked in his name and was asked for the cost of two rooms (although when I protested, I was given a small discount). Will make me hesitate before booking at Quorn Lodge again, I admit - and I have to attend another function in Melton Mowbray next month.
Friendly staff, great breakfast, good location, clean. Ample safe parking. Overall Good value.
Decor a bit dated, but this on its own would certainly not stop me using this hotel again as the service far outweighed this minor criticism
