Staff helpful. Clean and was given a larger room than expected
Intermittent noise in the room throughout the night ? heating pipes very disturbing .Decor needs replacing
Really friendly place and great value for money
The Chicken Tikka Massala was super.
Wagons thundering past seemingly all night long!
Location was good. Breakfast was good. Bedroom was very comfortable.
having to run the hot water in the sink to get the shower to work, and then it was too hot to get into!
Food and service was what you would expect from a 5 star hotel, nothing was too much trouble for the staff and they were always happy and smiling.
Good location, close to town and the train station
Very tired, needs some serious tlc - refit. Expensive for what it was. I wouldn't recommend.
Friendly staff, fabulous location.
Lovely, friendly and helpful staff. Very comfortable and clean. Good food. Quaint charm. Family appreciated the gym. Walking distance to town. Will stay again.
A couple of things in need of repair but otherwise everything was very good.
Nice clean place , friendly staff, good breakfast
Cleanliness, good home cooked food, excellent staff
The breakfast was very good, especially as it was served to the table. The room was good but we were at the top of the building and the roof sloped so my husband had to be careful! Bathroom was clean. I would certainly go back here again.
Exactly what we needed for a local wedding. Clean and efficient.
Breakfast was good and staff were friendly
We stayed in the loft room which just seemed to have had a cheap conversation , paint work unfinished and you had to run the basin tap to get shower to work- this was actually wot the hotel had written down plus shower was hot or boiling hot - very dangerous
A good honest basic hotel . Really accommodating by keeping the kitchen open when we were very late arrivals. Staff very friendly. We'd stay again
A little dated (but better than the clinical feel of a chain)
Good food, very comfortable room, staff very friendly
For b & b it was good value. Service was friendly. Our room was spacious but bathroom could do with updating. Recommendation would depend on to whom the hotel does have a take us as you find us attitude, but is value for money.
The evening meal was disappointing perhaps a smaller menu would be better, with improving the quality. A couple of good wines by the glass would improve experience.
The room was very comfortable and clean. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and suggested a brilliant Italian restaurant where we had dinner.
We had a spatious room, lovely decorated, very clean. The beds were extremelly comfortable. The hotel has caracter and charm, it is clean and nicely decorated. The building has 2 levels and I am not sure if there is a lift. Breakfast room is spacious and welcoming. However, if you are looking for a modern, minimalist layout, this hotel is not for you.
The front and back gardens are lovely, with flowers and mature plants, but need a bit of attention. Also, in my opinion, it would look better if all the potted plants at the entrance will be planted in similar pots.
Good friendly staff. Comfortably and relaxing atmosphere.
clean and tidy Helpful and friendly staff Lovely breakfast Close to the town center
maybe needs updating slightly
Being accused of making noise when we were not
Friendliness of staff and warmth of welcome. Very helpful.
The staff were very friendly plus walk distance to the town centre and to finish off a lovely English Breakfast
Room 19 a buzzing in the bathroom but it wouldn't stop me going back for sure
The hotel is close to the town centre and walkable for a party where we knew we would quite likely have a few drinks. The room size was good and we could relax after a long journey (4 hours).
Confusion over booking a second room for my son (being required to book via Booking.com after a phone booking, resulting in being requested to pay for a second room that we were not using (but which I noticed was let to someone else). Tired old bathroom with dripping tap in basin. Lumpy pillows.
Room was large and comfortable. Staff were friendly.
It was all a bit dated and Fawlty Towers-esque.
