Location to Cambridge and the restaurant was excellent
Nice location. Character property. Friendly and helpful reception staff.
Service at dinner was painfully slow. Confusing as to what was and was not prepaid on breakfast menu.
Lovely location We didn't have time to use the Spa but it looked lovely The receptionist who booked us in was warm and friendly Room very pleasant
When we went to go for an early dinner the staff we approached were quite snotty to the point we decided to go elsewhere. The room was pleasant but only worth£60-70 not the£96 we paid
Comfortable room with lovely bathroom and very big bed! Friendly and very polite staff. The buildings are so pretty and the food was great.
Everything was great. Amazing staff. Great food.
We liked everything.
Lovely setting of the hotel albeit a bit of a ways out of Cambridge. Enjoyed the bar (and cakes and coffee - delicious and good service) and room was clean and comfortable.
Price is a bit much for what it is - but so is everywhere in Cambridge.
Very convenient for the A14
Only that we didn't have time to try out the spa
Quiet location with easy access to Cambridge and pleasant pub nearby Clean room
Room not ready on arrival at 5.30 Ran out of fruit salad when breakfasting at 9.15 though after mumblings of discontent from husband fresh fruit salad materialised
room was gorgeous and the large ensuite was amazing! we also made use of swimming pool and other poolside facilities . Felt like a luxury treat
breakfast was rather disappointing! after reordering breakfast twice due to receiving the wrong orders we gave up! you could get a better quality breakfast for less money elsewhere
location and venue was beautiful and very well presented inside and out
Clean and friendly
I booked an executive suite and was given stand. Food service was poor, food was poor.
Easy access from the A14. Close to Cambridge, Newmarket. Spa facilities very good. Staff helpful.
Problem with safe that was not sorted out even after informing the staff.
Modern rooms with good level of finish and furnishings. Excellent buffet and individually cooked breakfast for £12.50. Good food in the restaurant on an evening although I do feel it is slightly over overpriced. Good Bar menu too.
Service in the restaurant was rather slow, although they did have a private party on that evening too. WiFi was not the quickest for business use.
The Hotel was generally of a very high standard and was luxurious and opulent. The pool and spa were wonderful. I was not able to really interact with the staff or the bar area, and I dis not eat at the hotel, for that I can't comment. The rest however was great, except for the water issue.
Lack of any real hot water! I was very shocked (considering the very high standard of the rest of the Hotel) to discover the next morning that our bath shower/sink could produce luke warm water at best, having to shave and prepare for a formal event with .. cold water was not a fun experience
spa bed TV bathroom room size
spa closing at 8pm
The lay out was lovely it felt cosy and not like a hotel at all.
The lounging area of the spa was disappointing not enough beds...but the rest of that area was V good
Friendliness of the staff. Comfort of the room. The spa facilities and the fact that we could use them after checking out.
Having to go outside to the room and the noise emanating from the central heating boiler during the night. We did mention this and were given another better room where the noise was not so audible. Also breakfast was quite expensive at £12.95, but to charge an extra £4.50 for a tiny piece of haddock was rather insulting.
Comfortable bed Nice room
Wifi was poor
The environment and staff were excellent. I cannot fault anything from the booking of the wedding through to arrival, the event and check out. A really big thank you to special people for making it a special day for everyone.
No phone signals on many different networks.
Spacious rooms, plenty of parking, stylish decor and very good receptionist on duty when we arrived.
Bedroom in separate building - OK in dry weather, but need coats and umbrellas to reach restaurant.
staff and food all good
Spa was fantastic
Clean and efficient but soul-less
Great hotel. We had an lovely room with all facilities. Hotel has a brilliant swimming pool and gym. Staff were really helpful. Highly recommended.
Location is near a village just outside Cambridge, close to the A14. On the map it looks like a short distance into the city but traffic is heavy and it took us 30 mins to drive there. However much better value than city centre hotels.
