After a very busy, stressful time, we wanted pure relaxation - and that's exactly what we got. The room was warm and comfortable, the food was great and we were very impressed with the pool, sauna and steam room. We'll certainly go back!

Nice quiet hotel located on outskirts of cambridge close to major road link and park and ride services into town.hotel itself nice and clean staff helpful and friendly, stayed in converted block area room nice and clean although everything new was designed to give oldy world feeling which I thought was nice.food was good if not a little pricey but nice culinary experience. Nice to see bar had a really excellent selection of scotch and other whiskies I believe 60 different versions. Very convenient for our trip up to North Norfolk. We have stayed here numerous times in the past. We were surprised to see some of the changes. Although it needed to be brought up todate - sometimes it can take the character away! (Bar area in particular)!! Also price for breakfast - expensive (considering we only had two small bowls of porridge)!! Not sure, if we will be staying again.

The food at dinner was very good When we arrived at the hotel there was a breakfast tray in the hall outside our room. When we arrived back at midnight it was still there. The bedroom was nice but it did need updating. The bathroom was very old looking.

There are many more hotels in the area which offer more and where the rate is actually cheaper.

I liked the fact that the use of the gym and pool facilities were free to customers of the hotel and its opening times meant we could make it there at least once every day. The rooms were always made up and very really lovely. The only thing I didn't like is more of a personal preference. The room was really warm but the cieling fan wobbled as it spun round and so made a funny noise. Also in the welcome booklet in the rooms, it stated that you could walk to the waterwheel from the hotel and to ask at reception for the route. However on asking, the reception said that it wasnt safe and they didnt think the footpath would be accessible and so it would be better to drive, which makes them offereing a walking/running route false advertising. We were looking forward to a nice walk there. Apart from that everything was perfect.

The Food, Location and layout of communal areas was good. Gardens are nice. The booking was incorrect when we arrived at the hotel, and we had a large booking of 13 people that they simply couldnt cope with. Our double room was small and dated (in the main building) and all of our guests complained it was far too hot. Breakfast ordered by one member of our family at 08:00 didnt arrive until 08:50 at which point they had already left. The explanation was that they were very busy! Dont book us if you can't cope! Then to top it all off they added £30 to the room price at reception! But graciously changed with no debate!

Refurbished parts of the hotel were good. Other parts were a little in need of some updating and a lick of paint. The grounds were not making use of the potential that was there. Breakfast offered a good range and variety. Our room was rather pokey and has several cobwebs. There was a faint smell of urine in the bathroom near the toilet. Some men had been bad aimers clearly!!!

When I booked there were only twin rooms left but when we checked in and the Receptionist discovered we were not part of a large wedding party she kindly allocated us a double room in a quieter block - much appreciated! Breakfast on Sunday morning was excellent. The bed was a bit hard!
