We complained about the size of the room we were given for our first night. The staff were very understanding and gave us a very pleasant, and sizable, room for our second night. We ate in the restaurant on the first eveninhg and the food was excellent. (Also, we were in Glasgow for the Celtic Connections Festival which was, as usual, wonderful!)

Location for shops and nightlife was excellent.

It is an old building so room had single glazed windows so it was cold and it was noisy at night and early in the morning. We were also disappointed with breakfast it was just cereal and toast no cooked breakfast.

Nobody at reception the whole weekend that we were there. Very steep flight of stairs to bedrooms with steps of uneven height

We were able to check in quite early which was lovely - staff very friendly and obliging. Room was a lovely size - really spacious and decorated in a boutique style. Bathroom was modern, very clean and large with lovely Arran cosmetics provided. We ate in the restaurant that night - food was excellent and good value. Breakfast was served in the bar next morning and was Continental style which was fine. All in all a really good stay in a city location - very central for everything and we would definitely stay again should we visit Glasgow again.

The only downside was draughty windows but the hotel is an old building so they come with the territory. We actually put the cushions on the window-ledges which was fine. It was exceptionally windy though the night we stayed.

The close location to the city centre

No sound on TV

Location was perfect for shopping, pub was nice downstairs and the restaurant had good food. I can highly recommend the hotel for grown up's who want to go shopping an enjoy the city center. Can be tricky to get into your room with children and strollers because of stairs and several firedoors. It was good value for the money and will come back next time in Glasgow.

Wall to wall carpet in our room needed serious cleaning or at least proper vacuum cleaning, bathroom was also a bit untidy. It was no ventilation, so it was necessary to have window open all the time. I hope there will be some updating soon.

I didn't like anything about my stay

Shower was covered in mildew, bed was uncomfortable. The laminate was coming off the tables and the the base boards were coming off the wall.

Great little pub with lots of atmosphere

Really steep stairs up to room, seagulls outside really noisy even with window closed difficult to sleep. Room really basic, expected a bit more to be honest given the history of the building, so much could be done with room to freshen and brighten it up. Asked for double room, got two single beds pushed together.

Room was very dusty and the electricity failed

Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice bar with good food and service. We were leaving early before breakfast service so they prepared a really good breakfast tray for us. Nice toiletries in ensuite (Arran Aromatics).

The only issues we had were a slight problem with the lock on the room door (it did lock/unlock but needed a bit of a jiggle) and the hairdryer didn't work. However, the staff were very helpful sorting things out.

Location is optimal. Can't be beat. The manager was quite friendly and welcoming. He even carried our suitcases upstairs!

Price compared to comfort and facilities doesn't add up. Room was very small. No space for leaving suitcases open. No desk/chair. Wi-fi only available in bar. Signal not strong enough to reach bedrooms. One day the room wasn't made up. Another day all toiletries were removed and no new ones put in.

Wonderful location and very kind, accommodating staff. Very characterful small hotel with both a lovely restaurant and pub on site, but not at all noisy! I would definitely go back!

The fact that it was inexpenseive, comfortable and easy to find and park near. Food was excellent and staff courteous and friendly.

Staff make u feel like u re very welcome ... very nice clean room and modern looking , great location . higly recommanded,but not for early sleeper tho , street can be lil bit noisy.tried 2 room during stay , one very big room on the front , 3 windows ,lot of light , and another one smaller but still very confortable. many thanks
