Well where do I start......for a hotel that was supposed to be boutique it was very disappointing. The room was small and cramped and there was a terrible draft coming through the closed window...even when the blind was drawn. For a hotel that boasts "the best of traditional scottish food" we came downstairs to the traditional scottish bar to find that breakfast was CONTINENTAL...what a let down......the only things that were warm on a traditional scottish winters morning was the toast and the coffee (almost) Would definitely give it a miss for that price .

Overall, a pleasant stay There are a couple of things to mention. Once in the door, we followed the sign for 'hotel reception' up the steep stairs, only to find a notice on the locked door pointing us back to the bar! Surely this information should be at the bottom of the stairs? Breakfast was a bit of a disappointment. I knew we were in for continental-style, but I didn't expect long-life, vacuum-packed pastries. The hotel is in the centre of Glasgow, for goodness sake. Surely someone could arrange fresh?

Didn't expect much from rooms above a bar, but our room was huge. Fixtures and furnishings were designer. Most modern we saw in 16 day tour of Scotland. Hotel doesn't really have staff, the staff works in the bar downstairs. They were excellent. Couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. Bar is fun, and if you have a drink in the bar you only have to make it up the stairs. Food was okay. Some noise at night around closing

The location was great. The staff tried to be helpful but the noise factor is overwhelming. The noise from the street and the bar is unbelievable. \Hwling in the night. The bar nextdoor is out of control. We used a white noise machine and so we were only awaken a few times. We also used music in our room to muffle the sound. Rab Ha's is a great place for young people who are going to stay out late and miss the noise.

Without a doubt the staff. They really couldn't do enough to help and were friendly.without being familiar the food was good too. This is a slightly off beat hotel in that it was like a really comfortable country pub with rooms in the heart of a city, loved it but those expecting formulaic room service and facilities would not get what they expect. All in all however a good solo experience that I will be repeating with my wife. ON the down side one or two minor things that are worth mentioning. My room faced onto a busy street with occupied rooms across the way. There were no nets at the windows so unless you wound down the blinds and went to artificial light - not as lot of privacy. No double glazing therefore in it's location could be noisy especially at the weekends and linked to that I discovered a Pifco infra red heater in the wardrobe which suggested that there were times when the heating did not cope. .One word of warning however if you have any mobility issues this is not the hotel for you as the rooms are only accessed, as far as I could see by one fairly steep flight of stairs. However non of the above would stop me, personally, from re-booking.

The staff were amazing helpful and the food was the best food i have tasted in a very long time. I would definitely book again and have recommended to friends and family. no cooked breakfast in the morning and if you wanted it you would have to stay after checkout which is eleven oclock and cooked breakfasts dont start until twelve.Only thing which maybe they should include. The food there is top notch

It was a casual down to earth pub place to stay. The location was great to walk the city, the staff friendly and helpful when asked how to find something. The rooms were small, as usual, but well kept and very comfortable. It's not fancy but a great place to lay your head at the end of the day. The pub below is a lovely relaxing place to sit and chat with the staff and locals.

The manager was exceptionally friendly and made a formidable cup of coffee. Also the ensuite was quite nice. The room was very small, the bed uncomfortable and worst of all the window did not insulate the room from cold or noise. We spent the first night mostly awake due to the chilly breeze and the noises of everything from late party goers to early seagulls. I suppose the posterior rooms are more comfortable.

friendly staff and good location dark and dingy. No parking available except at nearby NCP which cost 15 pounds for the night - making the stay quite expensive and which could probably have bought a more luxurious hotel with parking included.

Although the rooms were fairly compact, the facilities within were quite adequate, and were at least working! The shower was amazing!! Even although the hotel/bar had a kitchen, they did not offer a cooked breakfast! Only continental breakfasts!

“My husband and I stayed here for two nights, it was a surprise for his 40th birthday. And what a surprise it was, they had upgraded us to a 2 bed apartment on the top floor! The views were just amazing. Lovely spacious modern rooms, that are nicely decorated. The kitchen area had everything you needed to cook a meal, it had a huge fridge and even a dishwasher! It had 2 bathrooms, one with a jacuzzi bath. The staff were really helpful and friendly throughout our stay. We cannot fault our stay and would definitely stay here again the next time we go to Glasgow. I will be recommending this apartment to everyone!” Lisa, Coventry |
