Comfortable and clean surroundings both in the room and public areas. Reasonable bar prices Hotel restaurant was fully booked when we arrived. I think it was due to xmas party nights. |

Close to centre of Durham which is a short walk away Badly built ie noisy with doors banging along the cooridor - attention to detail was poor ie no pen and writing paper or what's on guides in room towels had seen better days - looked good quality but fails to deliver - swipe card to use lift gives impression it is in a high crime spot |

Efficient and comfortable. Food was poor, cold, sauces forgotten. Not value for money for vegetarians. No apologies or engagement from staff - and we are polite travellers!. Some service excellent, some really indifferent. Parking fee unnacceptable as a hotel guest. |

Good location. Spacious, comfotable room. Room service menu good (though typically expensive). Staff cooperation in agreeing I could check out at 5pm to avoid floods. One beligerant and rude member of staff who tried to charge me for an extra night's stay after I'd already received approval. Too hot! |

comfortable, well-located within easy reach of Durham's castle, cathedral and shops and the surrounding countryside, with helpful and friendly staff the quality of the food in the Filini restaurant is very poor and lets down all the other positive aspects of the hotel. In addition, the Filini cocktail bar was inadequately staffed and it was clear that they were indequately trained in preparing the drinks we ordered. |

It was really good value and the service was fantastic. Despite the power cut on Saturday night we thought that the staff responded terrifically and our meal was fine - and the atmosphere was friendly and collegiate. We were also really impressed by the staffs' commitment to the guests - including carrying less able guests up the stairs as the elevators weren't working. All in all, as with so many things, it was the attitude of the staff which turned what could have been a disaster into a positive adventure! Not able to watch match of the day - perhaps a back up power supply might be a good investment!!! |
