Comfortable and pleasant public areas Excellent location near many bars and restaurants and tourist spots Lovely huge bed and cloud like pillows Complimentary water in rooms Clean sparkly bathroom
Expensive breakfast so didn't bother Scruffy carpets in bedroom and bedroom corridors Shower was ok but would have liked a bit more power Nice toiletries replenished every day
location convenience of location nice size rooms
Nothing bad to say
The hallways and bedrooms really need updating - my room had a worn and badly fitted carpet; the furniture was very scuffed and scratched on all the surfaces. Overall my room did not feel very clean and was a bit depressing. I don't think I would stay here again. I was suprised because I have stayed at Radisson SAS hotels all over the world and they are usually very smart.
an excellent stay overall
cost of hotel
We recently spent six nights at the Radisson Blue and really enjoyed it. the location was superbly situated on the Royal mile just down the road from the Castle, handy for the tour buses shops park, walking distance to station.
The hotel is in an ideal location for everything in Edinburgh. The staff are all very helpful. Breakfast was lovely
The carpets in the hotel are in general all stained and the room we stayed in could do with some TLC. The bath and shower are small and the grouting between the tiles in the bathroom is brown and the sealant needs replacing. If you are after a good nights sleep then maybe this is not the hotel for you because we were right opposite a nightclub that didn't shut till 3am and was noisy till 4am. The kingsize bed was not a kingsize bed, but 2 single beds pushed together.
noise from road, and being close to lift people talking
Fantastic location Food at breakfast was great
Low energy lightbulbs in bedroom meant it was always dark - nowhere light enough to put make-up on Breakfast tables rather small Pool a little cold
I am beyond thankful for the staff who helped me carry my 3 suitcases. Everyone was so helpful during check-in and check-out. Additionally the location and amenities are amazing.
Service from beginning to end was excellent. Friendly, helpful staff in every department. This is a rarity these days.
Carpets soiled in halls and rooms- should be replaced asap.
-location (right in the center) -warm swimming pool (water at 30°) -food at restaurant is good
-cushions (extremely soft, no head support at all) -swimming pool area is cold, therefore unpleasant to stay there once you get out of the water -breakfast is expensive for what it is
The fantastic service from all the staff:)
Staff, breakfast, service, wifi, parking and location
2.30am fire alarm and evacuation, but not much hotel can do about this and it seemed to be well handled
While booking in the receptionist asked what the purpose of the stay was - my husband and I were celebrating our silver wedding anniversary I answered, so what a lovely surprise it was to find a bottle of champagne in our room when we returned from shopping - CLASS HOTEL
The staff was pretty nice
not clean enough very high priced and the food in rest. was not so good.
Staff were fantastic - nothing too much trouble. Location was within walking distance of everything we wanted to see and do.
Great location for festival viewing, good good, great service from friendly staff.
Thought the hotel was a little tired ... The carpet in hallways stained .... The rooms could do with a revamp too!
The location couldn't be better. It's right in the center of the Royal Mile. The staff are friendly and helpful. I got great tips about the performance of the International Fringe Festival. It's particularly convenient for us to join the local tour to the Highlands as the meeting point is less than 50 metres away.
Wifi connections are not good in the rooms.
Breakfast was always good, wide variety, hot, and staff were very friendly.
Room cleaning during stay was lack-lustre. Rooms were not cleaned thoroughly and we were still finding trash from previous guests on the third day of our stay.
Excellent breakfast. Good service.
All staff were very polite & friendly yet professional. Hotel was excellent & a very nice touch was the bottle of prosseco sent to my parent's room with compliments of the duty manager for their diamond wedding anniversary. Can't fault the hotel on anything, a very enjoyable stay.
Excellent receptionist who recommended the little restaurant opposite which she then booked for us. It was great! The same receptionist then allowed us to check out late when all I asked was when was the latest we could check out. This gave us precious time to carry on our holiday before returning to our room to pack.
Good open areas on ground floor
corridors were very dirty
Excellent location, friendly staff
Carpet outside the lift was covered in mud for the entire duration of our stay. Carpets in the room were shabby considering the price of the room. Reception area looked very nice but hotel was let down by tired looking room
Great beds, fast efficient wifi, friendly staff and central location
Grubby carpets in upstairs corridors
