A comfortable design hotel. A Very convenient location for city tour being right on Royal Mile. At the check-in, the reception clerk asked credit card for preauthorization of entire payment. The annoyance is that they asked for more than 50 pounds extra a day. I got the message of payment request on the mobile phone. After questioning to the clerk we learned that it is only preauthorization and the total payment in the end should be the same. It wasn't a very pleasant experience and we think the clerk should have explained this to us when he asked for preauthorization. And I find no reason to ask for more than the due amount even in the preauthorization. |

Great location, friendly staff. The hotel was bright and modern. The rooms were comfortable and well finished. The noise from the next rooms. We could hear them moving about in their bed and even turning off their bedside lights! |

The location is excellent, being within walking distance of the castle, monuments and shopping areas. The room we had was a good size and very clean, with a big comfy bed. I found the staff on reception to be very abrupt and quite rude on arrival, which didn't really make me feel welcome and there was no mention of the leisure facilities within the hotel. I thought the breakfast was overpriced but there are plenty of cafes nearby. |

Very clean and comfortable rooms. Good location. Only had address as Royal Mile which did not make it easy to find, especially arrinving on Sunday when part of the road was pedestrianised. |
