We usually stay here overnight before holiday trips if our flight is early the next morning. Currently enjoying a major refurbishment, the Hotel has done well to minimise disruption, certainly during our stay anyway. Nothing to complain about

Staff were excellent and very helpful particularly the resturant staff and the duty manager who did try to help. Was very unhappy that we booked and paid for the room 6mths in advance and requested a double non smoking room. We got a VERY smelly smokers room with 2 single beds. It was that bad that we had to get room service to come up and spray the room, but that only lasted a short time. When we asked if they had another room we were told that there wasn't and if we read the small print they state that they do not guareentee that you will get what you request. So much for the promise of 100% satisfaction, they will fix or your money back. We were late arriving and given the offer of a free drink at 11.00pm at night. Not what you want after a long trip of 20 hours and an empty stomach!

New executive rooms will be great when they are correctly running. The staff are exceptionally keen to put things right or make alternative arrangements when things go wrong. Was given £50 refund on £155 price which was appreciated for the inconvenience of moving, electrical issues and lack of facilities. The staff must be highly praised for their attitude and helpfulness in trying to resolve problems. Thank you. Hotel is undergoing major renovations. Rooms not available on arrival. Air con not working so given a fan. Fan far too small. All wall sockets failed so maintenance man called. Telephone not working - had to walk to reception to contact staff each time. (Told IT need to programme the phones) No instructions on operating the coffee machine. Waited over an hour to be moved to another room (not executive class). Was told the twin room would be upgraded to include all executive facilities - however they were not in place. No robes, no Nespresso machine, no vanity kit - but the air con did work!

Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Although my room-service order had been forgotten, once I had enquirer they delivered it and waived the meal charge. Shower temperature at best was lukewarm - and that's generous!

Location. New restaurant very disappointing. Staff sloppily dressed, badly informed about food and drinks.. Food quality not up to former Philias Fogg standard and overpriced. 3 minute scallops for over 10pounds and very poor cheeseboard.2 cheeses same,no local cheese.Breakfast very ordinary. If you were looking for previous high standard you will be disappointed. No airconin restaurant after a very hot day. Room also very hot.

Radisson Blu was an extremely convenient hotel for staying two nights when we needed to transit to the European mainland. No fuss and bother, just a covered walk from the Terminal. The train to Manchester city is also in the complex. Our room was large, clean and comfortable with all the amenities we required. The hotel is currently being fully refurbished but there is little inconvenience for guests. Breakfast was very good with a wide choice of dishes. We ate twice at the hotel's own restaurant, recently renovated to a high standard. The presentation of the food was very good and the staff very helpful and friendly. Like all hotels in the major groups, it is wise to check the holding amount that the hotel takes upon checking in.

Ease of checking in, comfortable and clean rooms. Trying to find reception..... only because major work is being carried out. But we were dropped by car on a lower floor than reception and as we had not visited before we did not know where to go. Another guest helped us.

Close to airport. Comfortable, but basic room. Didn't like staff uniform, too casual. Didn't like breakfast choices, basic. Lots of manager types running around looking important but missing the plot I fee. Serving staff helpful and friendly. Still took 15 minutes for my poached eggs to arrive, after a reminder. Very poor. Genuinely thought that hotel was brand new and that staff etc. where finding their feet. It's eleven years old!! Something is wrong with this hotel. Yes, I know, it's being refurbished. So. Food still poor.
