Had problem with heating in room, staff did try their best but room remained uncomfortably cold for our 2 day stay, unacceptable for a 4 star hotel.
Stunning bar area, friendly helpful staff and a very good price. Couldn't be in a more central location.
Cost of car park.
Large room, delicious bed, view
Staff were pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was pretty good as was the free WiFi.
In the first room I had the air conditioning couldn't be turned off or adjusted so it was blowing out cold air continuously. Second room a/c was better but, due to the way the window architecture had been done it was impossible to fully close the curtains so there was a lot of light in the room all through the night.
Position of the bar area
Location Funky rooms
Beds and duvets were small. Unaware until arrival that leisure club costs were extra. Parking a bit of a trek when you have luggage.
The reception staff deflected my complaint well but I would have preferred not to have compained in the first palce.
The weather was freeezing and my room was like a fridge. There was no or very ineffective heating in the room and none at all in the bathroom. The freezing effect was made worse by the tiled floors. I was ill the following day.
Helpful reception staff
Clean, spacious room and staff were very helpful and polite
The location is excellent, the bar, restaurant and reception staff are excellent.
The size of the business class rooms vary, I have stayed here numerous times and it's pot luck what you get. Cold rooms, small quilts and rude housekeeping staff
Helpfulness of staff and quality of (upgraded!)room, plus breakfast. Coming back in July for our wedding reception and staying again - would be happy in the same room!
Lovely large art-deco room. Staff very friendly. Heating wasn't working and they were helpful to try and fix it. Good breakfast
Double glazing inadequate
Great room, very tidy
Excellent bars and resturants within vicinity
Liked just about everything; great staff and facilities and close to town centre.
Why don't you make the car parking free?
there was constant wind noise even though double glazed. The bed was uncomfortable. The pillows were poor. The cooked breakfast was cold even though we sat down to eat at 7.45a.m
Friendly staff. Comfortable rooms. Good breakfast.
having to pay extra for gym/swimming. pillows were too soft.
Location is ideal
Very cold in the bar/restaurant area due to open plan reception/entrance
location and staff brilliant
all was excellent
location and facility
paying for parking if needed
Location. Friendly staff. Room size and comfort.
Cooked buffet breakfast was luke warm and seemed like it had been standing a long time. Plenty of choice but let down by quality.
Comfort, facility's, helpfull staff, good food, all in a great location
What's not to like?
Ease of access to town centre. Staff were polite and friendly.
Room not as tidy as I'd expect - i.e. could see dirt on carpets in the room - suggesting either cleaned hurriedly or not properly. Webiste is misleading re the use of Gym etc - we decided to book this hotel as it had leisure facilities over a 5 start hotel nearby which cost slightly less but had no leisure facilities. When got to hotel found out that you had to pay £6 per person unless you were staying in the Business class rooms (which they are very few). I complained about this on check out after checking the website on which it isn't very clear - felt I was misled. Also the facilities are not in the hotle but a shprt walk thorugh the precinct.
Excellent check in and check out. Staff most helpful. Very comfortable and well appointed room. Wonderful pillows! High speed free Wi Fi.
Breakfast trays on corridor at 16.00 when we checked in, and still there on our return from theatre late at night! Tea, coffee, milk etc had not been replenished.
