I can't believe this motel is rated 5 star! It did'nt even have bedside reading lamps in the rooms! The bathroom floor flooded when the shower was used, and the TV's in the bedrooms are old square non digital ones without freeview!!! This place would have been 5 star about 10 years ago, but not now in 2011. What a joke! Premier inn is heaps better than this and it's quater of the price!!!!

Concierge staff were excellent. Very knowledgeable, very helpful and friendly. Very professional. Not being allowed to check in at 1:50pm because "official check in time is after 2pm". Miraculously at 2pm everything became "possible" and we were then allowed to check in. We had arrived with 2 young children at 7:30 am after a 13 hour flight. We tried our best to keep them distracted despite nothing being open at that time of day and a chilly and wet winter day precluding outdoor activities. So a little bit of flexibility by reception would have been helpful.

We asked for an upgrade as it was my husbands 40th birthday and we got treated like a vip. Chocolates and a message left in the room, city view, free cocktail each in the bar and free movie in the room. The room was very comfortable and luxurious. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. We had a great stay and would recommend the Radisson Edwardian to anyone. That the spa facilities were not complimentary and a charge was applicable to residents.

Room was lovely. Restaurant is nothing special. Food is of good quality but choice is limited. Had expected a better menu for such an establishment but in reality is just upmarket expensive pub grub. Also expect much better in the bar. For the price, cocktails should be made with fresh lime juice and not cordial.

Generally it was an enjoyable stay. The bar area is very poor. The lighting is meant to be atmospheric but is just a bit to dark. My biggest complaint is that there is not enough room to have a comfortable drink and never enough staff attending. The staff did their best under pressure. No parking arrangements.

Great location within 10 minutes walk of the shops, theatres, restaurants and bars. Good residents' bar Cramped bathroom even in a Deluxe King. No bedside lights. Old CRT TV even if it is a B&O, it's completely out of date Long wait for breakfast on a Saturday (wasn't there on other days) Cramped breakfast room where the seats are too low Breakfast so-so The whol place needs an update really

Great central location and excellent value (given rate through Booking.com!) Some of in the bar/restaurant and spa could have been more professional, given that it's supposed to be 5 stars. Had requested a twin room as a special request and were given a double, they changed this no problem but why did they give us a double in the first place when there was availability of a twin? No slippers or ice bucket in room (minor points). The fridge in the room is computerised and remains locked unless you leave a credit card at reception. There is a notice on the fridge saying that if anything is moved or consumed within the fridge that you will be charged! - not particular user friendly!

Having stayed in various hotels in Manchester before I have to say the Raddison Edwardian is by far the best I have experienced. In terms of service and comfort it is second to none. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a city break in style. The staff were very friendly and the rooms were clean comfortable and well kept.

King suite - Room was gorgeous! Huge, contemporary, a balcony, great views, molton brown toiletries, great tv, sound system, shower fantastic. Service outstanding and friendly staff. Second stay in 5 weeks must be my joint fave hotel in manchester with the lowry and good value for money although not cheap. Lighting in the luxurious bathroom wasnt right for applying my make up - petty but annoying!

The staff were friendly and the hotel was clean and in a good location. Im not sure who gives the ratings for hotels but this is definately not 5*. Although it was nice it did not meet my expectations and certainly was not up to the standard for what they charge. If its a work trip and the company are paying, go for it. If your looking for something special for the weekend, the Midland is next door!

We were staying at the Radisson in Manchester to attend a family wedding reception and were not impressed when our expensive drinks were removed from the table before we had finished with them - this happened on more than one occasion

Some members of staff went above and beyond to make your stay as perfect as possible. Pete the concierge should particularly be singled out for praise. Surprised at the lack of complimentary slippers (had these in a four star hotel the previous week). Complimentary dressing gowns were quite rough and not as luxurious as expected. No complimentary biscuits in the room - again, this is offered by lesser hotels. Facilities adequate but hugely expensive - drinks costs hugely inflated compared to other similar hotels.
