Friendly staff, good beer at an excellent price, pleasant room, super breakfast.
Trivial: getting the key in the bedroom door proved an unexpected challenge! Nighttime road noise was a touch intrusive but not serious for this traveler.
very nice room, cleaned daily. Great staff , excellent breakfast. good location for touring the area, not too far from Bath. Parking was easy, if not immediately obvious and it was free. Could not hear any noise from the Bar once in the room.
The address did not exist on the Sat-Nav,( the hotel is on the junction of Old Bath road) there were a lot of inebriated locals loitering outside and in the doorway when we arrived. Would have been better if the hotel had a separate entrance. The location of the Check in was not clear and it took a while to get noticed.
Home comforts and value for money
Dimly lit stairwells but that was it!
Staff friendly and helpful, room spacious and comfortable, facilities excellent - even down to choice of a tea/coffee cup in the room ! Ensuite spotless and fantastic shower.
Having to come home !!!!!
Room was completely fine, once inside. Confortable bed, clean bathroom. Breakfast was good.
On a very busy junction, no double glazing so lots of traffic noise. No food available on Sunday evening - very disappointing after a long drive. The building was not welcoming at all - with dingy corridors. Wi-fi code provided did not work.
The atmosphere was friendly, the rooms clean and the food excellent
Really friendly staff, room was clean and comfy, food was great, overall a really good place to stay
Menu was limited but food was excellent and plentiful, bedroom and bathroom were generous in size and very clean.
Window in the bedroom needed attention, side entrance and access stairs were gloomy.
Staff were wonderful and accomodating
The staff were friendly and efficient. Breakfast was lovely and very filling.
Free Wi Fi Ample car parking cooked breakfast included in room price good size TV good homemade food in restaurant Friendly staff
Dated decor front facing rooms noisy radio from downstairs can be heard in room at 07:00 on a Sunday morning!
We always pick this room for our stay . Really comfortable The breakfast is great cooking what ever you want .
The heating wasn't working well this stay and there was a damp patch by the window which needs attention
Friendly staff Very clean, rooms cleaned daily Freshly cooked food and good sized portions
Was expecting pool table and dart board but had been removed 2 years before - website needs updating
Wi-fi and the breakfast.
The noise from down stairs from pub and road noise. Dark hallways.
Good basic pub food of enormous quantity. Room basic but good, comfortable and clean. Shower excellent.
Bit noisy from young 'locals' on an evening out !!! but this was not really a problem
We liked the room, nice and comfy spacious nice sized bathroom. We also ate there which i would highly recommend massive food portions and a good choice of what to eat even of your a vegetarian like me or a massive meat eater like my partner.
Check out is early but only fault.
The staff were very un friendly, left stood waiting for a drink whilst the bar man stood there texting on there phone. Constant loud bad language by locals, would never go there again or recommend it!
The choice and quality of the food was very good. The service was good and the room very pleasant.
just about everything, especially breakfast
could do with a more than one key
The friendliness Peaceful because it was an ordinary pub night The food.
That our daughter had to be on the floor above and had a very inconsiderate neighbour.
Every person we met at the hotel were very helpful. The breakfast and evening meal selections were good.
The stairs to our top floor rooms were steep and awkward to manage when carrying bags.
Nothing to dislike
the staff were very friendly and made you welcome as soon as you went in,the food was very good with large portions, and home made, the room wass excellent, and the bathroom looked as if it new, beds very comfortable.
only one negative the room could do with double glazing as it faced the main road,so a lot of traffic noise during the night
The hotel had character. The room was neat and clean. The breakfast was good and plentiful.
Teenage people in the pub/ outside eating area were loud and the language crude. This did not make us comfortable and would not have been suitable for anyone staying there with children. The dining area was too warm and needed better air circulation.
Tired furnishings + Single glazed sash windows + Room overlooking busy high street + Plus unseasonable warm weather (not hotels fault) = a very poor nights sleep. The place had an odd smell!
