Situated in the heart of the Thames Valley, only 9.5 km (6 miles) south of Oxford, the hotel, with its unusual and interesting architecture, prides itself on personal service.

This Premier Inn has free parking and family-friendly rooms. It is 11 miles (18 km) from Oxford, 3 miles from Didcot Parkway Rail Station (trains to Oxford in 15 minutes; London in 45 minutes).

Situated in the heart of the Oxfordshire town of Abingdon, The Brewery Tap is an award-winning pub with 3 beautifully appointed guest rooms.

A little gem. Yes it can be a little noisy when the trains go through but it adds to the character of the place. Good homely food in the restaurant too.
Parking is free! Room was in good condition although the way everything is set out is more like a hostel
Shower did not work in my room (no water came out at all!!) Breakfast was very poor. Chef seemed uninterested in what was coming out of his kitchen with its quality.
Very welcoming staff and cosy environment. Fabulous breakfast. My wife and I would have no hesitation in recommending to friends. We would definitely stay here again.
Train noise, but I do not consider this a big issue, it all depends if one is a light sleeper or not.
Pub atmosphere and friendly staff. Overall cleanliness of the facilities
Carrying my [heavy] bag up those stairs to my room :-)
The staff were lovely, helpful and friendly. The room was exceptionally clean, well decorated with ample wardrobe/drawer space. We had a spacious bathroom with shower....did state bath with over the bath shower which saddened my husband as he likes a bath. They provide tea, coffee, biscuits, handwash and shower gel in the rooms Breakfast was lovely with a huge choice. We were on the top floor close to the railway, but this was all stated when I made the booking. We weren't disturbed at all by any trains .The pub was lively in the evening but the room was quiet enough where we sat so we had the best of both worlds, we could join the lively room or stay where we were. Our 13 year old daughter was more than welcome in the bar area. The hotel was located outside the village of Culham, it said 2.2 miles from , and this was spot on, but felt longer. The hotel called me prior to arrival to say they had set the room up with a double and a single bed, if needed they would change to three single beds, which was really nice, they also let us into our room 3 hours before stated due to the phone call. They also called me when we had left our phone chargers in the room before we got too far away. All in all a very pleasant place to stay
nothing to complain about at all
All was just fine
Best points were the good (and excellent value) food, helpful staff and nice spacious en-suite rooms. The building also had character and was in a very convenient location relative to the railway station.
The staircase to the top rooms was steep and narrow, so avoid these if your mobility is limited. Some noise from railway is the down-side of being so close to the station!
Staff were friendly. Room was clean and comfortable. Building was quirky---old railway house. Breakfast was lovely and the huge dance floor in a marquee, available for hire an added bonus. Best of all free parking at the station on a direct route to Oxford makes it possible to avoid traffic jams.
It was a bit difficult to find in the dark. Booking confirmation could tell customer to stay on the main road and not drive into the actual village, though I guess a Railway Inn would be near a station so getting lost was really my fault:).
Everything - lovely accommodation and food excellent
Trains were very frequent and noisy, but less so overnight hence was still able to sleep reasonably well.
clean and comfortable. helpful friendly staff.
a bit old fashioned
The food was excellent the staff friendly and helpful. Overall a really nice place just not keen on the trains right out the window my own fault for not checking how busy that line was but still slept really well.
Staff very friendly and helpful.
Very noisy because of rail traffic and road traffic on the adjacent main road. Stair quite steep especially the second stair to the top floor, made more difficult when carrying a suitcase.
staff very friendly and helpful. happy to help with any thing and very approachable. rooms clean and food very good value for money. great stay.
our room was the closest to the railway. the accepting email had advised us of this, so it was no surprise. it is very noisy though, but felt the room was priced accordingly.
I only stayed for one night and it was a pleasant stay. The hosts were friendly and helpful, the food was tasty and at a reasonable price and the beer was good too!
Despite being next to the railway, my room was quiet. Live music was provided by a great band. One of the nicest pup b&bs I've stayed in.
Spacious rooms including bathroom, TV, rooms, staff
as very close to station very noisy, coffee in packets stale and bitter, no wifi in rooms,
Nice rooms which are nice and clean
Stopped serving evening meals early
Clean rooms, comfy beds, good breakfast, good value for money.
Rooms can be noisy (B and B is an old train station) ask for a room way from the trains. These are perfectly quiet. Not easy accessible, if you are on the thames path. A 2,5 miles walk along a very busy road is required to reach the Railway Inn
The friendly laid-back attitude. Proper local English Ale & Stout
TV did not work/no control. Light in bathroom u/s.
I stayed at the Railway Inn while doing my Bowen technique exam and I would go back tomorrow !! Such a lovely friendly atmosphere and very good food :-))
It was a bit noisy with the trains but you didn't notice after a while.
Cleansliness, info and facilities. Coupled with location.
Slightly noisy due to guests (can't choose them) and water pump to keep up water pressure. ( the pump can be placed on acoustic mounts and would reduce db by 60 %
This is an excellent B&B with excellent staff. The early breakfast was appreciated. The rooms are spotless and plenty of tea and biscuits. I will stay here next time I am in the Oxford area
The owner and his wife were very hospitable and made everyone feel very welcome . All other staff were all very friendly to the guests .
No issues to report
Welcoming and friendly staff, good breakfast, comfortable room.
Nothing I disliked, would happily stay at the Railway Inn again
Very nice breakfasts and friendly staff
Think we were overcharged at the bar and did raise it at the time so that was our fault( charged over £9 for a pint of real ale and a pint of lager and lime).. Didnt have another drink whilst there .
