location price access to running path on the Thames
Great location.Close access to town, railway and motorway.
Can be noisy if located at front of the hotel as it is on the main road
very friendly, helpful staff. very accommodating on adjusting the dates of mystay
shower was a bit intermittent
location except one emplloye -the staff was ok
bed one employe
small, clean but quite old. staff r quite helpful.
the staff was very helpful but not as friendly.
can't say I'm nearly satisfied with the bed and WiFi connection.
The wifi was superb. The guy on the desk was super-friendly, and always willing to help. He deserves a lot of credit for his excellent service. The location was handy also. Breakfast was great, the bathroom en suite was super clean, & Tea and coffee was in the room and great free view tv. I would definitely stay again. I cannot stress enough how friendly and helpful the guy on the desk was.
I would have liked a cooked brrakfast, but that is my preference. The booking did say "continental breakfast" so i knew that in advance. The breakfast offered was fantastic however.
Need breakfast Bec expensive room inc breakfast
staf were very good
Breakfast was very poor
The room was comfortable and well equiped
Nothing I have stayed many times st this hotel. It does what it says on the tin.
I've stayed here a number of times before and shall do so again as it suits me very well, both for attending meetings in Reading and for catching the RailAir to LHR the night before an early flight to the USA, as it makes a nicer, cheaper option than London. The location is good, as it's very close to the station, the river and several good eating places. I am a member of a small (seven people) committee that meets annually and the front apartment (Room 25) has proved to be an excellent meeting place for us for three years running. Three of us also had single rooms for the previous night and everyone was comfortable. The hotel staff are very friendly and welcoming. Bathrooms sparkling clean. Wi-fi works perfectly and is fast and reliable.
The constant roar of traffic is wearisome, as it means sleeping with the window closed (however, back bedrooms are a lot quieter). Carpet in the single bedroom I stayed in could have done with shampooing. The breakfast is not very inspiring: just bog standard for this lower price range. The apartment we used for our meeting had four wineglasses but no corkscrew, even though there was one there last year. The hotel wasn't able to supply one so we had to wait half an hour for the cafe staff to come to work and lend us one. A small thing, I know, but sometimes it is those small, niggly details that can colour a person's impression of a place.
Nice room, comfortable bed and well appointed furniture
Only continental breakfast available and totally self service using a drinks machine.
Room was good
Breakfast was very poor
Nice quiet location and only 10 mins walk from the station, although the far side of the city centre. Dinner in the attached Italian restaurant was delicious, authentic and very reasonably priced too. Not amazing generally, but you get what you pay for.
One of the staff members was quite surly and didn't bother telling me my taxi was waiting even though the taxi driver had told him. The others were very helpful, however. Bed was very soft and sloped, so rather uncomfortable. Heating didn't work in my room. Shower was cold one morning, but to be fair the handyman did fix it that day. Terrible tea and coffee at breakfast.
heating was good and easy to control breakfast was included
Bathroom, although spacious and well appointed, was down 3 steps from bedroom - awkward and potentially dangerous for night time visits
The bed was uncomfortable. shower did not drain so you were left standing in dirty water.
Proximity to the city, the Thames Walk and incorporating an Italian restaurant. Limited off-street parking was also welcome.
A little tired, especially the en-suite bathroom, which needed a makeover.
Close to public transport. Plenty of eating places around. Close to river and city centre. Old but comfortable.
Parking limited and in tightly confined area with medium or larger cars.
Staff were polite and attentive. The room was well furnished, comfortable and clean. Hot drink facilities were very good, with some nice biscuits. The evening meal I had at the restaurant was a bit expensive but worth it..
There could have been a bit more choice at breakfast: e.g. the only fruit available was oranges and grapefruit, no prunes etc.
Good location, clean room. Great showr
The price is good and the Wifi is excellent
All the windows in the room are broken. The wind and noise come in. The floor is in very bad maintenance.
- adjacency to the train station - close to the Thames River - very helpful staff - spacious and clean room
- Wi-fi signal was poor - Breakfast
Room 10 was nice and quiet. Good location by the river for running/walking along. Bathroom is modern.
Breakfast is poor, warm yoghurts, lack of choice. Fresh juices and fruit (not tinned tangerines and grapefruit) would go down well. Front of hotel looks shabby, ripped red canopy, faded sign, man on reception not very friendly on checkout - doesn't smile. Needs some investment in decor to bring it up to scratch.
