A superb modern, full service hotel. Best breakfast buffet we have seen for years. Very helpful staff. We were unlucky in that the wifi service was intermittent and the mobile signal is marginal. Not good for those needing reliable connectivity. We stayed in room 106 which was above the main entrance. Sadly this was were loud and inconsiderate smokers congregated after a late dinner. This issue must be addressed urgently as the warmer weather arrives and windows need to be opened at night.

Friendly staff and overall space and facilities. Uncomfortable seating in the bar area. Needs time to start to look less like a building site outside.

Warm welcome on arrival by porter (Peter), the location, the luxurious rooms, the spa, the beautiful gardens. Also, the breakfast fare was amazing and beautifully displayed. Unfinished building areas (obv. unavoidable but a bit of an eyesore at the moment!), our morning paper wasn't delivered (a minor gripe), my kipper at breakfast was overcooked (though my complaint was dealt with satisfactorily and I received a refund on additional charge).

The surroundings were good and food really tasty especially food served in bar. There was additional charge for most food on inclusive menu which unless you were prepared to pay there wasn't much to choose from. Additional charges made for no reason on a number of occasions but once raised removed from bill but took relaxation away from weekend.

Where it was situated. The gardens were beautiful. The food was gorgeous. There was thick dust on the bed side table and lamps. There wasn't enough lockers in the spa changing room. Thought the spa facilities would have been better for the cost.

Beautiful location and setting. Only 15 months old so everything is in good order. Very friendly & helpful staff (especially Peter the Porter). Comfortable and relaxing. Excellent breakfast. Food in the bar was average at best. Booking.com did not / do not offer all the rooms which are available at the hotel, some at considerably lower price; consequently it is worth seeing what other rooms are available / price etc by ringing the hotel. Rare in my experience for this to happen with booking.com.

From the moment we arrived we were made to feel special. The room was superb with a small outside space and a luxury bathroom. The spa was heaven and immaculately clean. The gourmet restaurant was superb and the service wonderful, we have recommended Raithwaite Hall to everyone and would love to return.

This is what you come to expect from a 5 star resort. The rooms had everything you could ever need from robes, to local bottled water to tea with biscuits. The bed was extremely comfortable and the room was peaceful with a pretty view of the courtyard. The rear of the hotel is home to a magnificent garden with flowers and a lake. A perfect wedding venue. Every detail has been so well thought out. The staff in the hotel couldn't do enough to help us and make us feel like celebs during our stay. The shower in our bedroom was brilliant, a large ceiling mounted shower head and separate hand shower. The spa facilities were great also and clean. Breakfast was included in our room rate and we loved the fresh honeycomb and jars of honey, glass jars of natural yogurt with mango, as well as the delicious locally sourced sausages. I don't mean to be too critical with my negative comments but they are worth noting as you do everything else at the hotel so well! The Wi-fi connection doesn't work a lot of the time in the rooms which is disappointing given we are in the 21st century! Children allowed in the spa area, albeit at restricted time, it made everyone leave once they came in and started carrying on and screaming. In my opinion, for the price that you pay, this is not an area geared up for young children. We were not served poached eggs as requested at our first morning stay's breakfast as someone had forgotten them and then on the second day I have to say the service was slow and it wasn't overly busy. The breakfast staff were not as eager to impress as the main hotel reception staff who were great, with the exception of the female manageress who spoke to us about some of the local sourced products and was very helpful and welcoming. Guests also parked overnight/all day in the drop off bays, which as the name suggests are drop off bays, making it difficult for guests checking out needing to fetch their car around to reception for their luggage. This needs better policing by the hotel. These are just small points but at times just took the glitzy edge off the whole experience.

Friendliness of all staff; even the guys sweeping the drive put their hands up as we drove past. Attention to detail. Breakfasts are excellent. Great choice. Location. Loud music in the bar area at certain times. A bit too intrusive when trying to relax/talk. Particularly didn't like the jazz.

Hotel in a lovely location within beautiful grounds. Upon arrival Richard showed us around and explained everything which was very helpful. Room was clean and well equipped if a little small. Enjoyed the spa facilities, the gardens and the restaurant. Staff were helpful. A little overpriced in my opinion. Especially in the bar and restaurant where we had to top up our own wine glasses.

The staff were excellent, so was the room and bar areas. the hotel sits just the right distance from Whitby and Sandsend. Breakfast was so good and made the deal for us. The remoteness of the main car park but it spoiled nothing of our stay.
