The 80-acre Raithwaite Estate with its landscaped grounds is located in the coastal North Yorkshire countryside. Luxurious rooms within The Hall and Keep buildings feature alongside an indoor pool, spa, sauna, gym, 2 restaurants and 2 bars. Extremely helpful staff. Excellent service.Very good food. Beautiful surroundings. Newly completed room in the Keep was most attractive. Lots of parking. Great access to Whitby and Scarborough

A lovely hotel with very helpful staff. Room was not very big but adequate for our 2 night stay. We ate in the Poachers Bar and the food was lovely especially the desserts they were yummy. We used the spa a couple of times and also had a massage which was wonderful. Would recommend this hotel for a nice relaxing break.

The staff were very friendly and attentive. The hotel was very well appointed, modern, clean and luxurious. The balcony was minute and looked out onto a weed strewn bank: ie depressing. We booked a deluxe room with a balcony for a view but did not get one.

The location is beautiful and close to the coast and North York Moors. The hotel is very comfortable with a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Unfortunately we had a bad experience with the meal- the steak was "very well hung" and not fit for consumption. The response from staff was not as apologetic as one would expect nor was the remuneration offered.

Garden is excellent and well cared for. Staff friendly, helpful and courteous. Food on the whole good . No shaving point in bedroom. The hotel lacks a quiet sitting area where one could sit and read: the bar is not always appropriate. Toast at breakfast was under-cooked and flabby - had to ask twice for it to be adequately toasted.

Great location Imaginative design Fine room Really good food and excellent helpful friendly staff Not sure about the reconstituted stone used for the main building and it would have been good to see some more of the primal house.

Very private grounds, off the main road, spacious rooms and luxury spa. The excellent concierge on duty during our stay "Peter" .... Very professional indeed. The lack of parking for residents of hotel. A wedding was taking place and the guests took over the one and only car park close to entrance. As a paying resident of hotel, not appropriate we had to leave our car half way down the drive way.

A superb modern, full service hotel. Best breakfast buffet we have seen for years. Very helpful staff. We were unlucky in that the wifi service was intermittent and the mobile signal is marginal. Not good for those needing reliable connectivity. We stayed in room 106 which was above the main entrance. Sadly this was were loud and inconsiderate smokers congregated after a late dinner. This issue must be addressed urgently as the warmer weather arrives and windows need to be opened at night.

Warm welcome on arrival by porter (Peter), the location, the luxurious rooms, the spa, the beautiful gardens. Also, the breakfast fare was amazing and beautifully displayed. Unfinished building areas (obv. unavoidable but a bit of an eyesore at the moment!), our morning paper wasn't delivered (a minor gripe), my kipper at breakfast was overcooked (though my complaint was dealt with satisfactorily and I received a refund on additional charge).
