The newly named Cobden Hotel Birmingham, formally known as the Quality Hotel Birmingham, is in attractive gardens in quiet Edgbaston.

Our modern hotel was built in 1980 to a Roman theme, and is situated on the outskirts of Cannock Chase.
Score from 158 reviews Good
Within 2 minutes' drive of the M6 motorway, Holiday Inn Walsall offers free private parking.
Score from 390 reviews Good
Just a mile (1.6 km) from junction T7/T8 of the M6 Toll motorway and only 2 miles (3.2 km) from junctions 11 and 12 of the M6, the hotel offers comfortable, great-value rooms and free parking.
Score from 77 reviews Very good

Quality of service by staff
Someone setting the smoke alarm off at 4am while I was asleep with my children .
Loved the room, clean and modern, quiet considering next to motorway,
The staff in the morning when I went too check out the girl was a bit rude because the guy didn't mark on system that I had paid already, lack of choice for breakfast and a tasteless
quick check in, helpful staff, clean room comfortable bed.Good breakfast. would stay again only as a one night stay.
Unable to use the sky room and bar so therefore nowhere for us to sit and have a drink when we returned to the hotel in the evening. The staff did let us have a hot choc from the breakfast machine which unless we wanted to sit in reception and drink we had to take back to our room. Staff did offer to let us see the sky room but not much point..
Bed not comfy at all premier lnn better
Location near M6 - was clean and spacious family room
The only positive aspect of this hotel is the Sky bar... this was shut when I visited, although the staff didn't bother to let anyone know.
Air conditioning noise (despite being switched off); Some marks on sheets;
The hotel was central to Cannock, the staff were very helpful and accommodating. The room was spacious enough for the 3 of us, the main double bed was comfy and although the second bed was a sofa bed it was easily a double and my daughter slept perfectly. The breakfast was fine as there was plenty to choose from it was buffet style both hot and cold with a good selection of hot drinks.
There was nothing about the hotel itself we didn't like. There was limited parking but we managed to find a space. The only down point for us was a rude awakening (after a late night at a family wedding) at 8.10 am when the fire alarm went off repeatedly for a good 20 minutes (Another guest decided to smoke in their room)
Friendly staff on a very late reception & bed quite comfy
The shower had a few hairs in the base and on the glass that were not ours, the air conditioning was noisy& the lamps did not work, only the main light.
Free Wifi Location Staff room amenities
Breakfast wasn't overly hot
Nice and clean, would use again
We only had 1 towel between us
Good clean quite room
Breakfast was not catered for considering there was a wedding party in. No cups for tea no fried eggs.
Cleanliness of the Hotel, professionalism of the staff, excellent rooms.
Unfortunately the food my partner ordered in the Brasserie was of very poor standard, but in fairness to the staff, they did all they could to rectify the problem (Agency Chef!).
Nice view from the sky bar
Asked reception for a extra room key, and was told they don't issue them from a foreign worker, but there was no problem getting one a few days before, very rude.
Very helpfull made welcome great stay
The breakfast was disappointing and looked like it had been out a while.
The location is good just off m6 but a bit difficult to get to even though you can see the building.
The instructions on how to keep the room cool or operate the air conditioning to keep room cool did nothing this is the second time. So the room was warm and abit uncomfortable.
Great value for money paid
Rooms were lovely
We didn't like the fact we couldn't go on to the sky deck . It was one of the reason we booked that hotel.
The person on reception did his best to sort out our booking / rooms. Room was good and the service in general was good. Free breakfast offered as a result of the hotels failure was some compensation.
When we arrived only one of the two rooms booked was available. Took over an hour to book in due to other distractions (party of men who wanted the bar opened, another party trying to book in). We ended up in one room with a matress on the floor for our 15 year old daughter. We met with excuses in the morning blaming booking.com, after travelling 2500 miles across Europe with 4 previous hotel bookings through booking.com that went smoothly I fine the excuse from the hotel a bit lame. I had an email two days previously from booking.com confirming two rooms booked, I cannot believe the hotel were not sent the same communication.
