very clean and comfortable
noisy guests on 3rd floor using foul language late at night
Clean, convenient, well furnished.
Internet is only available in the rooms via ethernet. If you're using a tablet you only have wi fi access in the lobby. Not a solution as far as I'm concerned. When I can travel to the deepest parts of India and Nepal and find wi fi in my room then I don't think it's too much to expect the same thing in Barnsley.
There were 5 in our party including an elderly relative. Unlike other chains of budget hotels they were happy for us to have 2 rooms instead of 3.
Mattress could have been more supportive but it wasn't uncomfortable.
Lovely and clean
Needs a bar
Proximity to centre and transport hubs
Straight off the M1 J37 Breakfast was nice
Woke after few hours and could see my breath, was freezing and duvet was really thin. No extra blanket or heating control. Train line directly outside window and thunderous trains came past every hour. No wifi available, not even paid extra option.
easy, no fuss hotel, good breakfast.
no wifi but internet connection via cable.Restaurant was an screened area off the main lounge area, very basic, but there is the Toby inn just at the side of the hotel.
beer and staff ,,,
if me un the wife were in the three bears story ,, we got baby bears bed ,,,,,, not even a double .... but it was clean which is the main thing
I liked the fact I could bring my dogs. I loved the fresh cooked breakfast. The room was warm and comfortable and it is very affordable.
I would have liked the staff to be a little more friendly and for them to smile a bit more. It was quite a noticeable difference from when we stayed at the same time last year.
Very clean and comfortable. reasonably priced also has tea/coffee facilities in the room. Very quiet, noticed alot of older pensioners stay here.
Wifi signal was terrible. I relied on this as my signal on my phone was awful.
the only downside was the internet connectivity, which was poor, to say the least[had to stay near to the door to get an acceptable coverge]
Due to the snow staff could not get in and the hotel was busy with stuck motorists. The staff on duty did an excellent Job. The Bar man was managing reception and the Chef was setting up the rooms despite this being after their finishing time. Well done to the staff!
The bed was very uncomfortable.
Room size good. Clean bathroom.
No hot chocolate, as I only drink this I was a little disappointed. Bathroom gets completely soaked after and during a shower, better ventilation is needed, and a drain to stop all of the floor getting wet.
great value for the money
beds could be a little bit bigger and better quality
There was a Christmas party in full flow in the open plan ground floor so the noise Wes deafening, lots of drunks, no food available. Breakfast buffet non existent next morning. All round terrible
Location was good, and the food in restaurant for dinner was nice. (Long wait to be seated, when only 5 others in restaurant?)
The smell in the room from the bathroom was awful!! There was a real boggy smell coming from the drains. We were very tired after a long journey so just wanted to sleep & a family funeral the next day meant we didn't want the upheaval of changing. The cramped room & small sofa bed
Breakfast was excellent. Everything piping hot, including the plates!!!
- signs in the bathroom about towels - having a full breakfast meal for a fair price - staff looked after my needs when I had to book earlier - friendly staff
- that I booked online saying that I want to book in at 8 and I had to wait until 10:30 in the lounge after a night shift and not sleeping for 12 hours.
Quiet room and choice at breakfast
Some signs of wear in corridor
Bed too small. Could hear noise along corridor. Room too warm. Staff a helpful but surly.
The staff were very helpful. The Toby Carvery is great for breakfast!
The bed was uncomfortable with springs protruding through. The rooms are ok if very basic, the bathroom was nice. Tea & coffee provided but there was no refill for 3 day stay - it seemed that this hotel is cutting corners to save a few pennies in areas that people actually want i.e. A comfortable bed and a cup of tea.
The receptionist allowed me to check in early without charging a fee
Staff at restaurant bar all stood around chatting. When I approached to order food was told sorry chef is too busy as we have a xmas function on
Staff are warm, welcoming and helpful. Rooms are clean, well-equipped and have superb wet rooms.Lovely breakfasts with a wide choice of food. Excellent value for money.
Everything was perfect.
love this hotel and stay often
Mattress very hard
