The Ramada Encore Derby is located in Pride Park, within walking distance of Derby Train Station and the center of the city. Location good for Derby and the hotel was very clean. Could really do with free WiFi internet access in the guest rooms - many other hotels are doing this as standard. There was free access in the main reception which is no good if you are trying to work in peace & quiet.

Seemed easy to find was right next to derby train station and very close to large shopping centre. Also only 30 min drive from Alton towers. Rooms were very clean and provided great value for money. In house restaurant offered a good choice of food although seemed a little over priced. Reception was under staffed had to wait a long time to check in and check out. Also was no extra pillows available on both nights. Hotel operates a pre authorisation system in which they hold a certain amount of money from your account until after you check out, did not like this system and have never came across it before.

It was a great place to stay for our trip to Alton Towers. At the time we had an amazing discounted offer through booking.com, less than half price and figured a hotel would be the best place to stay for a group of friends rather than a family run B&B. The hotel staff were extreamly helpfull and polite. The breakfast was a bit limited and cheap.

Comfy bed, very convenient 5 minutes walk to Derby train station so for me it was a really good base for me. Enjoyed using the gym and sauna, and breakfast was fabulous, would have no hesitation in staying here again!

Location was ideal with local event, relaxed atmosphere & friendly staff.Clean room & hotel. Building site next door woke us early. In a executive room I would expect a king or queen size bed not a small double. In a executive double room I would expect two of everything including chairs for seating - had to request second towels, robe, slippers, drinks etc. Also poor range of Tv channels for a executive room
