Score from 728 reviews Very good
The bar/restaurant had no atmosphere as the TV was on most of the time and for some unknown reason the lights were turned on full all night. A little music and dimming of the lights would completely change things. As a result I taxied to the Hilton where the atmosphere was better and most of the NEC delegates were staying.
The reception staff were very friendly and helpful.
Pillows were the worst you could ever wish for, bar/lounge reminded me of school canteen
Nothing really to like about the place
We had a tablet not laptop with us so couldn't use the internet in the room as it was via a cable connection. The room faced the road so there was noise throughout the night with passing traffic. We also had a second TV in the room, but there was no socket to plug it in to.
We had a large comfortable room with plenty of space. Good breakfast as well.
Bed was pretty hard. As far as I could tell the wifi was only available in the bar/lounge area. There was a connection for wired access in the bedroom but my tablet doesn't do wired. Very much a business hotel for NEC exhibitors I think.
Location was good but be prepared to feel like you are taking a back entrance approach to the hotel because from Birmingham Intl station you go down a back stairs and follow signs past the back of NEC buildings.
Wi-if in the room would be beneficial
Location (near NEC), good breakfast, friendly staff
Shame there isn't free wifi in the room, only in the bar and lobby. Very cheeky that they ask you to pay £7.50 per night to park your car in the carpark. Rooms are very small, tiny double bed which is rock hard and not the best pillows and duvet. Hotel in the middle of nowhere, if you fancy venturing to another pub £10 each way in a taxi...minimum
Good location to NEC. Nice staff. Bar prices not too bad. Our room was quiet,3rd floor. Clean. Breakfast was really good, good selection and was tasty. Bar food also good. If yoyr looking for a room for 1 night it is perfectly ok. 5 mins walk from the train station/nec
Basic for pice, noisy rooms, in need of a refurb
Location to train station
poor lighting in room - no lamp for single bed and overall lighting in room very poor.
cleanliness. Good supply of decaff coffee sachets in room.
Location to genting arean and motorway.
Beds are very narrow, the shower area needs some TLC (room 102). Pillows are too thin, but for the cost very good value for money.
Staff, location, price, breakfast.
Not usually one to complain , won't be staying again poor staff poor cleanliness poor room quality poor value for money I'd rather pay less and stay at a premier inn !!! £7.50 to park on top of the price of a one nights stay what a cheek parking for hotel residents should be free of charge. £10 pp for breakfast do yourselves a favour and spend the £10 for two people to have breakfast and unlimited drinks at Toby five mins drive away!!!
No bad experiences
The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful.
Lack of pillows made it uncomfortable to sleep but was brilliant in all other aspects
Location, staff, food were awesome
No mirror in the room! Great staff got me an extension lead when I asked for 1 so we could do our hair in the bathroom (not great after shower when the only mirror was steamed up!). Bed not really comfy & pillows were flat & poor. I have whiplash so woke up in agony before my event which wasn't great. Had better hotels for £80 a night :(
It was really close to NEC So we were able to walk over when our event ended.
Bed too small and very uncomfortable. Room very basic.
Not a lot!
Bed only had 2 pillows for 2 people, no wifi in room's,no shampoos or body wash in bathrooms . You had to pay for parking on the hotel grounds. Bathroom floor has slates.
The location was good and the breakfast selection was nice.
Had trouble finding hotel as had to walk through an industrial estate to find hotel from where airport train left us. Asked for info for things to do and getting around Birmingham but didn't get much info from staff. they struggled with our Irish accents
very close to NEC and airport but very little signage as to how to find it. For going to NEC only its very good but for going into Birmingham it's very far out.
Only had one pillow each
The food was good
Location excellent for nec just a 5 min walk the food in restraunt excellent and reasonably priced staff friendly nothing too much trouble
Shower was broken and they couldn't fix it. Moved us to a smaller room. All I wanted for breakfast was toast and a cup of tea, and they charged me £10!!!!! Staff were rude and basically laughed at us.
There was dirt (lots) on the second bed in th e room - had no idea what it was. Worse though was the extremely lean offerings of the buffet. Essentially all you could have were Full English or cereal. I wasn't happy at all.
The location was just perfect for me as i was attending a program at the NEC. The toilets were lovely with the all-glass finish
The pillows were thin & lumpy, the air conditioning blew only cold air & there was a lightbulb missing in the bedside light.
Staff were excellent. Pleasant, chatty & very friendly. Perfect location for anyone attending a NEC event or for the airport.
Location. Breakfast and comfort of rooms.
The bed was too hard and struggled to sleep, woke up with backache. The grout in the bathroom could have done with being replaced. They give you an hours free UK telephone calls but the booklet does not explain that in order to get this you need to get the phone unlocked by reception. It just mentions that you have to dial 9 for an outside line and as I was not aware of getting the phone unlocked, was unable to use this facility.
Went to stay to go and see a show at the Genting Arena and the location of the hotel for this along with the train station was great. The staff were very friendly, especially the breakfast staff in the dining room. Fast check in and room was ready before check in time. My request for a low level room was taken into account and was given a first floor room. Bigger than expected and tidy, although there was a bit of dust built up on the hinges on the door. Nice to have somewhere else to sit except for the bed. Good value for money.
