Leisure facilities are usually very good. Excellent breakfast.
Unfortunately swimming pool was out of action.
warm friendly informative welcome lovely cosy warm quiet room comfortable bed good choice of breakfast and dinner friendly staff
very cold restaurant evening and morning and midnight fire alarm dragging us from our beds
Hotel bedroom and some members of staff
Leisure area needs a bit of a face lift e.g. broken lockers and some parts looked like they needed a clean
Bed comfy Room clean and spacious Gym excellent
I was amazed that in this day and age there was no ale on offer at the bar . 4 types of lager, 2 types of cider but no ale , not even a bottled one. Disappointed
Location Ideal as just off A1
Food in the restaurant was not the best
All of the staff were really excellent, polite and friendly. The meals in the restaurant, the rooms, the facilities were also excellent and we enjoyed our stay there.
The staff at check in were excellent. The room was great with an enormous bed. We had the early bird dinner menu which was high quality and great value for money. The decor is slightly dated but not shabby and the atmosphere is very pleasant. After check out I was waiting for a phone call and asked if I could buy a coffee in the bar. The staff responded by offering a free coffee with biscuits and pastries on offer. I was very impressed.
The room was cold and lots of damp patches, room and bathroom dirty and brown marks on the towels. Breakfast cold and greasy
I stayed for one night on business at the hotel recently. Upon checking in the friendliness & attentiveness of the staff was fantastic. This opinion was only enforced with each staff member I spoke to. I used the gym facilities and pool, nice way to relax. Food great, rooms good and being modernised, I highly recommend this property knowing it will get better and better!
My room had yet to be modernised, and the bath/shower needed some attention, but it didn't detract from a pleasant stay, in a hotel I would certainly stay at again.
downstairs. Lobby and bar good. Restraunt excellent and very helpful. Spa looked nice but did not use
mould around bath, dripping shower head, beds that were well worn and in need of replacing.
The friendly relaxed atmosphere combined with the excellent food provided wonderful experience. This hotel is a hidden gem.
good breakfast and bar meal over all not a bad little hotel
location, use of leisure facilities, no noise, good choice of food.
Everything, was great value for money
Staff were fabulous. They couldn't do enough for you. Nathan in the leisure centre was exceptionally nice and especially to my young children. We ordered an afternoon tea when we arrived and that was great value for money. Room service was quick and portions a nice size. Breakfast staff were rushed off their feet but were still polite and smiled.
I sat on a sofa in the bar and the side collapsed. Wasn't an issue for me but could have been if I'd been holding a hot drink or for somebody old/disabled. Leisure centre changing rooms need an update and air conditioning as they were far too hot.
Efficient, clean, helpful, quiet, slightly "anonymous". We liked it.
Facilities were great, pool, sauna, location. Breakfast was also quite good. Rooms were ok.
WIFI was a bit flakey and kept dropping out, an essential with older kids. Breakfast ran out of a couple of things and took ages to replenish.
Location, swimming pool, breakfast
Beds very uncomfortable, mattress needs replacing
We have stayed here before and loved it so we went back. The staff are friendly and the breakfast is amazing. The room is lovely and comfy bed.
Only 4 little milks for 2 people for one night and back entrance door out of use.
A very good experience. All facilities were excellent and the standard of accommodation was high. Cannot recommend highly enough. Thank you
Use of gym and pool
Friendly staff, comfortable bed, good value
Bath had black mould around the broken mastic seal which made it feel unhygenic. Inadequate built in heating in the bedroom.
big beds and rooms with nice bedlinen and big tv. We were placed, as requested, in a very quiet area. Lovely thick curtains. Breakfast had a huge choice at the buffet. Didn't have time to try the pool etc but looked good! Location perfect for A1 stopover.
WiFi was weak .
Staff were helpful and friendly. Room was clean comfortable.
As a disabled room the bathroom was not fully accessible. Disable toilet in the hotel also has a few issues.
