Nice room. Nice pool. Comfortable. We happened to have a power cut at 7.35 am. Unable to shower without any lights in bathroom. Unable to have a hot breakfast. Staff did not offer any sort of compensation and tried to pass the buck which left a bitter taste. Saying ' it's not our fault". Very poor staff. Unable to deal with customers. Staying with a young child I thought it spoilt our half term break.

Access to the swimming pool and gym; the fact that a spare towel was available in my room for use at the pool/gym. Excellent breakfast Good value, clean and confortable.

Good swimming pool and leisure centre adjacent to hotel with free guest membership. Rebranding of hotel as Mercure from former Ramada Jarvis chain is currently (October 2011) having an affect on staff morale. Decor is tired and our room rather cramped. Hopefully for everyone things will improve.

Easy to access from disabled car parking area. Restaurant staff most pleasant asnd helpful Disappointed that the room had an atmosphere of smoking, although we had booked a non smoking room. Suspect that furnishing etc had been contaminated with smoke in the past ! No big deal, but just disappointed !!

The experiences listed below totally spoilt the experience. One of the two rooms we booked and had confirmation for was not in fact booked, we found this out the week before and rebooked. Upon arrival we found that yet again the booking had been cancelled, this was particularly disturbing as the room had been booked for 2 ladies who were 90 and 98. We ourselves arrived after 2.00 and were put into a room that had not be done, bed stripped etc. Never again will we book at a Ramada.

We went on a thursday to a friends wedding and we were pleased to find they opened the bar til quite late as it was a celebration. We were quiet so it wouldn't have inconvenienced any of the guests. Because of the time we didn't try any of the facilities but the staff were excellent and the breakfast was good and ample

Lovely location and great period rooms Staff were very helpful , cheerful and pleasant. Great selection of games on loan from reception to entertain children. By way of an observation only the three course menu in the restuarant - whilst something for everyone it was explained in such a way that regardless one one simply wanting one course it encouraged you to order three as your being charged for it anyway !

Our trip to Kiddeminster was simply to visit relatives. However, we had time to use the excellent pool. We would have no hesitation returning to the hotel in future.

The electric heater in our room made an awful racket each time it came on so our sleep wasn't very good. Besides that a good hotel.

Health club was fantastic, though shelves for towels by pool should be provided, and hairdryers and costume dryers should be in changing rooms. Excellent breakfast. Stayed for tribute group and New Year Party both excellent. Room slightly dated and cold on arrival. No biscuits and not much milk on tea tray. Dirty ironing boards in room (Chelsea 44), Has to ask for blankets and a chair.

They actually phoned us a taxi so we could go into town and eat The hotel had a power failure so were unable to provide food, television and the heating was off half the night, we understand these things happen but to still charge guests full price for sub standard facilities is a not very good customeer relations
