wow it was good
Help from reception was good as I needed some emails printed off and it was no problem.
I liked the Staff Food the Pool and all its facilities,
the sea view was lovely, but the window sill on the inside of the window was very dirty like years of dirt
Reception and bar staff very friendly and helpful. Room was very spacious with a good view. Close to town centre for shopping. Parking was a bit confusing to start with, but the staff soon sorted us out.
Pool attendant was clearly anxious to get home, and had already emptied the jacuzzi before we entered the health club at 6.20pm (closing time was 7.30pm). Reception/bar/restaurant all quite cold, although the heaters did help. Bed was just a double. In such a large room a king size would have been better (which is what we, and a lot of people these days, are used to).
I liked the cosines of the hotel. Everywhere we went it was cosy. It was a horrible day outside. And we actually just sat in the comfort of our room on a Saturday afternoon. the location is excellent. 2 mins from the centre of Ayr high street. 2mins from Gaiety theatre? Just central for everywhere. Prices very reasonable for such a big hotel. Have booked a weekend away again in January. Liked it so much. Left the car in the car park all weekend because everywhere was right on our doorstep. Highly recommend it.
just the welcome you get from the staff at front desk and the warm welcoming atmosphere of the hotel it's self we have always had a great time staying in the Mercure and will be returning again.
Close to Town Centre Good Parking
Staff were not very welcoming Bar Staff only interested in when the Restaurant stopped serving food, rather than offering the facility. Rooms were not clean, especially the bathroom. Very dated, in need of refurbishment.
Bus The train station beach ...just perfect
Really enjoyed the breakfast and having free wifi and also the swimming pool
Everything was good.
Staff Pool Jacuzzi Location
Price of food & drink Toilets horrible Room had cracked sink & bath
Shower room ties mould on grout Stainless steel fittings could not be , as rust on most parts Room was fine breakfast excellent staff great
The room was very spacious and the bed was comfy.
The bathroom, it was damaged and rusty, the grip rail in the bath was damaged and had been stuck back in badly with silicon, the towel rail above the bath was rusty, the laminate under the work surface was deteriorating and all the chipboard was showing. Also no sponge or face cloth to wash with and only enough shower gel for 1 wash each, we wanted to wash before we went to bed & in the morning.
Pool and sauna
The view from our room was fab. My wife and I had a privilege room. Spacious with added bonuses. Breakfast was lovely, variety of fruit, cereal and cooked. Plenty to choose from. We will return, probably ask for same or similar room.
A wee bit mould on bathroom ceiling. Needs a better fan to take away steam.
I liked The location, staff and it is a lovely hotel and I would come back just felt rooms need a freshen up. Bathroom work surfaces was corroded with water and looked old
Felt as though the room looked a bit exhausted bath room required repair
Staff and location is A1.
some facilities need updated,IE toilets in bar area.dirty mirrors for three days next to breakfast tables.
The reception staff were very helpful and friendly. The bar and seating area were well presented. The location of the hotel was excellent and the views across to Arran were fantastic.
The bathroom was in need of a complete overhaul. Even a lick of paint would help improve its current condition and the rusty towel rail needs to be removed immediately.
This has the potential for a good hotel. Good location close to the seafront, close to Prestwick, Troon and Cairnryan. Staff were very helpful, and the presence of a gym was welcome, though it too could do with a lick of paint
The decor was very old and used looking. The restaurant menu was suspiciously ambitious and i felt it was safer to stick to something basic. Though the burger bun appeared very greasy. The wine list appeared to have a typing error as even the smallest glass of wine was ridiculously expensive
the comfort of the room was excellent.
overall appearance of the common areas was a bit scruffy in fact the hotel made think it was tired. The bathroom silicon round bath needs tidied up and the carpets a bit jaded. Front of Hotel cigarette smokers obvious.
Stayed at this hotel for 4nights and the staff were amazing couldn't fault anything
We both liked the hotel very much, the staff were very nice and very helpful. We ate in the restaurant on our last night and it was superb. we are looking forward to coming again next year, but hopefully for a bit longer.
couldnt open the windows.
On checkin the process was quick and easy. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and tidy. We had a comfortable night's sleep as the duvet was very cosy.
The tea/coffee making facilities were a bit sparse. We arrived at 11.30pm and the room was cold. However, it was the first week in november.
Staff really friendly breakfast great value for money
Booked a small double, size not an issue but very noisy as backed on to lift and heard clunking of mechanism all night . Drab decoration and not worth money we were charged
