On the seafront in the heart of Brighton's 'Lanes', this friendly hotel has a pool, gym and free Wi-Fi. It is well-located for nightlife, restaurants and the beach.
Score from 3098 reviews Good
Overlooking the seafront, The Thistle Brighton is just 400 metres from the Brighton Pier and the Royal Pavilion. It offers free Wi-Fi throughout, a restaurant with sea views, a pool and a spa.
Score from 1434 reviews Very good
With its sumptuous Renaissance style, The Grand Brighton has a magnificent location on Brighton’s seafront and is just a 10-minute walk from Brighton Pier.

Staff very efficient & friendly, breakfast delicious.
Shower and breakfast
I did not like the shower one bit. The water pressure was terriable and it kept going hot, cold, hot and cold which is not what you want from a shower. I was expecting the bathroom to be a bit better to be honest.
I enjoyed the location, although I was in a room facing the back so it did not really pay off as much. It was near to everything. I thought the WiFi was good and also the bed was surprisingly comfy.
The place was pretty soulless - which wasn't a problem. It reminded me of so many of what used to be grand hotels in Brighton which aren't quite anymore!
As in the title - it was simply a business trip for some work in Brighton. All needs for a B&B were covered
Road noise even when windows closed. Bad seal. Need updating/replacing.
Staff, location, sea view room, breakfast!
very thin walls. terrible free WIFI. a bit far from center but if you like walking, no problem. :)
Good Housekeepers every day. very good bed and sunny room. the had a locker for you bags if you're not leaving at checkout.
Staff very good, comfortable bed.
Staff were very friendly and attentive but at the same time keeping a low enough profile fo us to go about our stay undisturbed. Very comfortable sleep.
Size of bedroom was pokey. View from bedroom window was a dirty courtyard with bits of rubbish here and there. We waited for some cooked breakfast items to arrive and even after them going straight into the serving dishes, they were warm, not hot.
Staff were very helpful
Lots of stairs and no offer to carry luggage to room
Small but cosy restaraunt
I thought the £25 charge for overnight parking at the hotel was excessive, £10 would have been reasonable.
Reception staff were very helpful and efficient, bar staffs lack of English was an issue but not a major problem.
the hotel was extremely dated, the rooms felt old and dirty and the décor was terrible. The staff's attitude was unimpressive and unhelpful. It was a busy weekend for Brighton and we paid over the odds just to stay in the city. The hotel was a huge disappointment. Some of the other rooms may have been redecorated since 1975 but we booked 2 double rooms which were both terrible. We could also hear everyone passing in the corridor and the other guests in the rooms around us. Only stay here if you have absolutely no choice.
Bar and lounge a bit uninspiring
The size of the room and sea view
£25 p n for parking space was
Arrived at 4pm room unavailabe. In bar, were served drink at table but barman did not clean dirty table. hotel condition generally grubby. Bedroom very small. Could not close smallest shower I have ever seen when taking shower. Staff friendly. Rate this hotel 3 star and very overpriced.
Parking is a bit pricey at £25 per night.
Fast and free Wi-Fi. Reception staff really helpful with maps and directions. The hotel knew this was booked for a birthday, so not sure if this is standard or not, but had a huge bowl of fruit in our room upon arrival.
Bar ooverlooking the sea, was very nice,
The second room we had which was std double was dreadful, with practically no daylight because of a lagged tank and pipe work outside. Reception changed it on request. No fridges in rooms is a nuisance. Too many steps and changes of floor level. Furniture is looking a bit tired.
Breakfast was very good, the terrace outside the first floor front bedroom was great, superior room was very nice indeed. Rooms and bathrooms were very clean.
TV was poor, didn't get the room I thought I was getting, location could've been better, however perfectly placed for major changed on the sea font,no doubt future prices will reflect this.
Breakfast was good,Shower was good
Everything was perfect - Value,Cleanliness, staff,Gorgeous room - Fantastic
Car park charge a bit steep @£25/night
Limited tv channels
Great value for money! Great size room! Complimentary dressing gown & slippers. Espresso machine.
It was very hot in the hotel so struggled to sleep and also pillows weren't very comfy but would still defiantly go back!
The staff were very friendly Nd helpful the room was very nice and tidy!
parking was expensive
A walk from pier, no car park space on arrival. Waiting for breakfast plate to be filled up. Car park additional 25 per night although park down round for 20.00 per night bit of a rip off. Had to beg for an iron put into the bar as breakfast room packed to small for size of hotel
Bed was comfy staff very nice
Cleaner's get in the room without knocking, with their own room key. This kills the personal privacy. Overall hotel temperature was quite warm, we literally had to open the room windows and turn the fan on at night. There is nothing much in hotel Menu, that would facilitate the urge. Parking is a big issue, and hotel staff doesn't help you with that. No fridge in room, where you could store your drinks. wifi speed was very poor.
Because we booked a seafront room and paid more for this, so only think we like was a sea front gallery with room.
