“The room was spacious clean and comfortable. The staff were all friendly and helpful. It was a last minute booking as we were going to a wedding and reception also it was new years eve and although they were especially busy we were still made to feel very welcome.”

Reception service speedy and friendly. Good seafront location. Parking at £15 for the night is cheaper than other city centre options. Thin walls - could hear the adjacent room's skype conversations into the night.

I was attending a wedding; the wedding reception and evening entertainment was excellent. The food was most enjoyable. Generally was quite good, its just that the decor looks very tired, including the 'public' spaces at and around Reception.

I had previously stayed on business at several Mecure Hotels and really enjoyed my stays therefore we opted for the Mecure in Brighton as our choice of Hotels. The rooms have alwyays been of high class decor as was the pictures of the rooms on the website for the Mecure Brighton. Unfortunately the rooms did not reflect the website or the standards of other Mecure hotels i have stayed in. Unfortunately the rooms did not reflect the website or the standards of other Mecure hotels i have stayed in. The rooms were not modern, no wardrobe, a really old radiator, very poor standard and very expensive for the 1 night stay. The hotel is a very old typical seafront hotel and the rooms reflect the building. On our arrival there was a DJ unloading his equipment from his van for a wedding being held there the same day/night. We were not informed of this when we booked our stay. There were also several hen parties at the hotel which kept us awake throughout the night with banging doors and drunken loud behaviour.

The staff is very friendly The rooms are clean and nice The public area is awful: carpets and bulding is old Some of the rooms are faced to the inside of the building, thus no light, bad view There is no terraсe which is more than important during the summer break

Excellent helpful staff! We really tested them - asking for a phone charger (one was left in our room); compaining about the volume problem on one of our tv channels (they allowed us to switch rooms .. using the balcony to avoid lugging suitcases up and down stairs) and getting order-in pizza (they photocopied a menu and brought it to our room). Nothing was too much trouble. Great breakfast and we weren't rushed althoguh we were there for over two hours. Great location; unfortuantely no sea views for twin rooms though.Parking was available althoguh we arrived late in the day. Parking charged for a full day although we left at 11am.

The location was perfect, our room (executive with sea view) was lovely - very spacious, huge balcony and enormous bed, a thoroughly lovely hotel to stay at.and ridiculously good value for money. No minibar or fridge in the room for my endless bottles of champagne!

The room was tiny, the walls were very thin and we were constantly woken by slamming doors in the hall. We were next to a fire escape that was filled with pigeons and dirt, the shower was dirty and absolutely tiny. Terrible value.
