With its sumptuous Renaissance style, The Grand Brighton has a magnificent location on Brighton’s seafront and is just a 10-minute walk from Brighton Pier.
Score from 1438 reviews Very good
On the seafront in the heart of Brighton's 'Lanes', this friendly hotel has a pool, gym and free Wi-Fi. It is well located for nightlife, restaurants and the beach.
Score from 2845 reviews Good

In the vibrant North Laine area of Brighton, the sumptuous myhotel fuses cutting-edge technology with unique design. The boutique hotel has an authentic Indian restaurant and intimate cocktail bar.

Breakfast was below standard.
We had great customer service from the front desk throughout our stay, which always makes a huge difference. Urte was especially helpful and pleasant.
The hotel feels very dated in terms of fixtures and fittings, no feeling of luxury whatsoever in the room (e.g. minibar, view, nice bathroom) although it was clean and comfortable. Also a bit cramped.
Parking £25 !!! Crazy and not clear on website , we often pay for parking but £25 pounds is unfair. Windows drafty , whistling wind all night long , no plugs in convenient places .Tiny lift , long , long walk to room .Overall disappointing for a Mercury,
Friendliness of the staff, from reception to breakfast. Decor was in keeping with the grand building.
Outside could be 'tarted up' a bit!
Staff very good and breakfast was great, the function room we had was excellent although not enough staff on hand at our bar when we first arrived at our tables to cope ( only 52 of us)
all beginning to look a bit tired, the carpet in my room was almost worn through at the end of the bed and the bathroom is at least 25 years old.
Helpful, friendly staff.
Draughty, ill-fitting old windows facing the sea on a very windy weekend. Fairly constant traffic noise outside because no double glazing. Weren't warned (or given move option) about a party which went on late and disrupted sleep.
Upgraded room to sea view which was good, location was Good.
Hotel looking tired in places, room was very cold, Windows draughty, had to close curtains to retain heat. Breakfast was a shambles, too many guests not enough tables, plus everything was running out, had to wait for it to be replenished. Cancel 2nd days Breakfast didn't fancy going to disorganised shambles again. Parking expensive at £25 night.
rooms are nice
bad management, staff who try to do so much, but seriously understaffed. Running around like headless chickens, overall condition hotel is run down. I would not stay here again.
The location was good. The staff where very attemptive.
The hotel did not meet up to its 4* name, it was a crowded space and the images provided where deceptive. During my 6 day stay the room wasn't hovered once, and had to ask a few times for fresh towels, also to change the sheets. The TV had 2 red lines running across it so we where force to move rooms. Overall very disappointing.
A nice hotel
The police rushing into hotel late in the evening and the related commotion I had brought my wife away for a relaxing weekend and we booked mercure for this reason having the riot squad turn up, was not in my plans
No room servise
The location and view from the breakfast room. Excellent breakfast. Excellent reception staff.
Car parking price, paid for first night but found street parking on the promenade ok for the second. The hotel could benefit from a makeover downstairs. The carpets are a little dirty. The front door doesn't close easily.
I liked the way that we were looked after when we informed Reception that our room was cold. They sent up a heater which was very efficient and the room temperature was soon very comfortable.
I didn't like the way that staff spoke across us when we arrived for breakfast. Even if people are turning up closer to 10.00 then they should still be welcomed as though they were the first guests to have breakfast. I was disappointed that when my husband asked for orange juice he was told that they had run out. In a large hotel like the MERCURE this was not acceptable.
the staff nice and were polite
not value for money cold in room and noisy.got woken at 6am me and my wife .crackd tiles on bathroom floor we had a bard sleep.
Great hotel. Clean and cosy
dated, Could do with updating
we were happy with our two nights stay
Breakfast pleasant enough buffet, in room overlooking seafront. Room comfortable, staff pleasant. Nice to be able to park on site, charge was fair.
Bit of a stretch to the centre of Brighton and pier.
The location was great as is right on the seafront and located next to good bars and restaurants. The food area reception looked great downstairs.
The staff did mention at checkout that you needed a code to exit the car park which meant a lot of time was wasted, the room was average as it seemed old fashioned and dark - not as the photos really looked on the website. Would stay at another hotel in the future.
Brighton is always nice, especially during s sunny weekend with calm sea in the winter
During our stay there at 18:00 our door suddenly opened and other customers entered our room. At this time we were having sex with my partner! This ruined our weekend. We felt embarrassed, unsafe, weird. We were explained that this happened because of a failure of the computer system of reservations they were unable to know which rooms were already occupied and gave rooms to new customers blindly! How cheap excuse! Must never happen to any hotel, especially to a four star one . Unacceptable
Hotel staff very nice & friendly, right on the seafront.
certain areas could be freshened up...looked a bit tired and dated. Bar area & corridoors. Lick of paint would do.
Breakfast, parking charges and thread bare carpet
It was central and staff were on the ball
But old feeling , not sure if it is a four star !
Breakfast was a good selection with continental and full English. Room was good size and clean although decor was a bit tired Location good for seafront and Brighton centre. Bit of a walk to Pier and Royal Pavilion
One member of the serving staff at breakfast was rude and unwelcoming. Hotel is is very spread out and rooms can be quite a walk. Bedroom was very hot and noisy heating. This is our second stay and would consider staying again.
Staff were very friendly, hospitable and accomodating.
Hotel rooms need updating and was a bit chilly in restaurant.
Staff were very helpful and generally efficient.
A wedding reception being held in the hotel foyer and only bar during the course of our evening...
