Overlooking the seafront, The Thistle Brighton is just a quarter mile from the Brighton Pier and the Royal Pavilion. It features free Wi-Fi throughout, a restaurant with sea views, a pool and a spa.
Score from 1189 reviews Very good
On the seafront in the heart of Brighton's 'Lanes', this friendly hotel has a pool, gym and free Wi-Fi. It is well located for nightlife, restaurants and the beach.
Score from 2706 reviews Good
This 4-star luxury hotel looks out over Brighton seafront and is close to the shops and city center. The grand Victorian building has large rooms, a restaurant and a fitness center with indoor pool.
Score from 1142 reviews Good
With its sumptuous Renaissance style, The Grand Brighton has a magnificent location on Brighton’s seafront and is just a 10-minute walk from Brighton Pier.
Score from 1260 reviews Very good
Quiet, not to far from the shops etc. Managed to get into the hotel car park.
Too hot in the rooms with the heating turned off and the window open, even had the fan running 24 hours. At the end of November!!!! Menu needs to be a bit more varied and was very pricy along with the drinks. Hotel Car Park very pricy - why is that when you have already spent £480 for 2 nights...
Perfect location for an evening with friends.
We were all females guests and although it was great to have rooms together as requested, we had patio doors that opened onto the fire escape, opposite a lot of other rooms with the same doors. The rooms were too hot but we didn't feel comfortable leaving the door or window open. The bath didn't drain away after I'd showered, so the plughole must've been blocked. That would've been a problem if I was staying more than one night. The bar is meant to be open late but there were no bar staff! We had to ask twice for someone to serve us, it wasn't late, about 11.30.
Location, bed was okay. Food okay.
Cost of parking, room on small side, price of a pint of lager.
Bed was good
The step down to en-suite and no hand rail on bath. Only one chair to sit on although staff were very good in providing a second one. Position of electric sockets. I need one by a bed to plug in my CPAP machine. The staff kindly provided an extension lead but the cable was a hazard (not their fault)
We went in to the bar and noticed all chairs were grubby and worn materials on chairs were split open. The carpets were dirty. A fire alarm was activated and we tried to leave the hotel room by the fire exit only to find we could not open the fire door as there was no clear signage on how to open the door.,
Lovely big, comfy bed Spacious room Late check out Great location Lovely old staircase and general character of the building Reasonable parking
location was good. Parking at the back was covered, the staff were fabulously friendly and helpful and the bed was very comfortable and the room quite cosy. I has a sea view and a balcony which was nice
Décor in public areas was shabby and could do with a facelift. Bedroom furniture - wardrobes, desk, chests-of-drawers - were old and tatty. Building does not really have a flow to it.
Good location. Good staff
This hotel is seriously overpriced. hard pillows with poor decor and paper thin walls - never stay here again, especially as there was a sign saying "free room upgrade" - unfortunately seen at checkout time. great marketing - give someone a rubbish room and then tell them they can upgrade for free! - Rather insane really.
The situation, the restaurant and the helpful staff.
The lack of drawers for clothing in the room. Also, our passkey regularly didn't work.
Nice sized room and comfortable bed
No complimentary water in the room. Cheap complimentary toiletries in the bathroom
I checked in at 8am in the morning and had to go for an appointment at 9:30am. The reception was kind enough to give me a room to freshen up before my appointment. And gave me a better room the next day when it became available. Special thanks to Roisin.
Great sea veiw a lot of great restaurants with in a short walk ,breakfast in the royal cafe is a must.
Quite a long walk to the pier also the rooms were very hot and know way of cooling them down as windows had restricted opening.
We just wanted to get a away for 1 night and we chose Brighton to get a little sea air. Glad we did! The hotel was lovely but it was a bit pricey just for a room. The room was large with an excellent sea view and en suite bathroom. It was a large room that was clean and tidy. Everyone was really friendly and we'd definitely go back again.
We would stay here again but I'd want a better price that included breakfast. £20 extra for breakfast is a little much! Although the room was generally clean, the sash windows had dead flies and spiders on them. They obviously hadn't been touched in a little while! Didn't like the fact that you couldn't reserve parking - I'd hate to arrive and have nowhere to park.
Friendly and efficient reception staff.
Rooms need some tlc - they have an austere feel. Breakfast room also needs redecorating and is rather small. Breakfast basic in the extreme.
Nice and clean
The ventilation was poor and the window opening inadequate. Other lack of powered sockrts in the room.
The room was lovely.
Only 1 staff can operate the till in the bar.
As there were Wedding Receptions on the Friday and Saturday the breakfast room was a bit hectic the next morning. No place to sit and running out of food, waiting too long for tea and coffee.
Very bad service in the reception with sa receptionist that barely spoke English. I couldn't find my room and it took a long time for them to show me. We ordered room servise which I had to pay cash for but had not been notified of this prior to ordering. Upon leaving, the same receptionist forgot to tell me that there was a code to get out of the carpark and I had to repark my car , run in to the lobby to check. I stayed in your sister hotel in Exeter the night before and I cannot beloieve it is the same chain.
location free wifi
tied building and amenities slow tv poor channel selection, dated
Spacious, clean ang good wifi
View - rooftop of neighbouring building
Small room, hard pillows, small shower cubicle, regretted should have spent more money for better place
The staff were helpful, breakfast was ok, bed was comfortable.
Size of the room was disappointing considering the reservation was fully prepaid, non-refundable, and booked months in advance. Our view was of an emergency staircase and a moldy wall.
A few noisy guests in the early hours
Location, room with communal balcony, free wifi, choice of food for breakfast
pillows, tiny dining room and heating
reception staff were all delightful and hotel was clean and tidy
Even though the rate i paid was a discount rate i feel the price for the back room that we had was too expensive. Also had a bad experience with the room service.. probably the worst Panini and hot chocloate I have ever had and teh make it worse the gent that brought it (although pleasant) looked unwashed and had shocking breath that put me off the food even if it was edible..
