Convenient location and covered parking
Only one spare 13amp socket in room
Good location and very freindly staff.
Staff very helpful. Wifi good.
Shabby, slightly fusty, malodorous room. Reception staff had to visit to sort out both TV & telephone which were not working. Asked for 06.00 alarm call, not received. First stay at a Mercure hotel and wouldn't rush back.
Location Clean sheets
Very tired hotel decor.
We was able to keep the car parked in the hotel the day after out stay while we went down town which was really helpful. Our twin room was very clean and comfy.
Was white a walk from the clubs we wanted to go to. Hotel was very hot inside. And the lay out very confusing
the room, as we had a stairwell right outside our window. Our friends who paid the same money had better rooms with baths. We had only a shower
Great sea views, very comfortable bed and friendly staff all made my stay a very pleasant experience. I will definitely be booking another holiday at this hotel. Good value for money and no single supplements. The Brasserie menu had a good choice and again was great value for excellent food cooked well.
Nothing everything was very good.
The location right on the promenade. The staff were friendly and polite. The bar was well stocked with a good view of the sea which provided interesting views of ships passing.
The very noisy crowd of what appeared to be contract workers staying at the hotel who thought it was okay to stand on the verandahs smoking and yelling and generally making a noise late into the night. Very rude when asked to pipe down. Similarly noisy and uncouth at breakfast.
just like staying there
Bed was huge and very comfortable and room was quite clean.
Hotel layout was a disaster, shabby and needing serious decoration not 4 star standard. Although there was a lift you still had to go up stairs to the room and there was even a couple of steps in the room which could be dangerous.
The hotel is in a very good location and is generally clean. The hotel upgraded my booking to a sea-view room.
I made a mistake with my booking through Booking.com. I contacted the hotel, but they did not help me change my booking. I had already prepaid the room, so cancellations were not possible. However, the hotel did not make any effort to help me make any changes, as "Booking.com took the same commission regardless of which room was booked". Also, breakfast costs a minimum of 10 pounds per person, which is overpriced for the type of food you get.
The staff were pleasant and courteous. Breakfast was very good and staff attended well to our needs.
There were too few staff to attend people when it was busy i waited 10mins to be served at the bar on one occasion Many of the staff were in training and really had not been shown what to do surely this should have been done before the staff were presented to the public
Staff were friendly and the rooms were big and clean. Location is excellent. Lots of families at school holidays and it was family friendly.
Building old and made a lot of noise while walking. But it is a minor problem
Breakfast (£10 for rot with poor service - served coffee only had to ask for milk etc. tables not set. Fried bread tasted like it was left over from Brighton Rock. Bacon - don't get me started. Bacon came from a sick pig, absolutely no taste at all. Very unprofessional) No parking (not told we had to pay) Cleaning staff who can't read (left do not disturb sign on the door and they knocked anyway and then when we asked for the room to be made up it wasn't, just a bag of towels and toilette roll left outside the room in a plastic bag) Wi-Fi (poor signal) TV (in this day and age 4 channels) Shower (fixed head shower with poor water pressure and only tepid) Can't believe this is a 4 star hotel, think someone meant to label this as -4 star. Sad Sad Sad. Save your money, save your stomachs. I cannot believe they have the cheek to take money off of people.
the receptionist tried to short change me
Staff I'd nice and service is good
Old, grotty room and bathroom. Expensive and poor location
Really great manager in front to help you out. (Guy)
The breakfast too expensive, wifi too slow and not all rooms have good deco and-room size are small.
Lovely staff, very helpful and genuinely nice people. Hotel bar had good selection of drinks, the room was brilliant, all you need; comfy bed clean bathroom. Phoned reception asking for a iron and board and it arrived with a big smile 2 minutes later! And there plenty of parking! Would visit again in a heartbeat!
Near the seafront
Room was like a match box...couldn't swing a cat. It was so hot in the room. Definitely not value for money. Even when the windows were open there was no breeze as there was a wall directly out of the window. Just really disappointed.
quick late night check in and fast departure
Room basic needs revamp facilities poor
The location was excellent, the room was nice, spacious.
The fact there was no air conditioning and we were not told is terrible. We should have been told at reception as it was the hottest day of the year! Apparently there was meant to be a fan in the wardrobe, there wasn't in ours and we weren't told until check out! Wouldn't recommend to stay in summer!
Location Decor Quiet atmosphere
Sounds line a whinge but the on site parking is very tight and it would be easy to bump into something.
We really liked our room which was all of the above. The staff were well trained, polite, pleasant, and gave a personal service.Breakfast was nice- lots of choice and fresh fruit too.
The public rooms are dated and a bit shabby, but the bedroom, the staff and location made up for this.
