The Hotel is in a excellent location for my purposes.and I am a regular visitor. For the overall standards set by this Hotel I am disappointed in two areas.. The quality of the cooked breakfast has deteriorated. Excellent ingredients well cooked and the time but prepared well in advance and then allowed to dry out and overcook/burn under heaters.Fried eggs had leathered. Replaced breakfast had also been prepared long before serving. Chef should not have allowed these product to leave the kitchen. Surerly fried eggs at least can be cooked on demand. Two tea bags and two small milk tubs - for two people staying in double room overnight. ?

The breakfast was nice and very substantial and the staff were very helpful. It was well situated for what we wanted and the main part of the hotel was very nice. I was a little dissappointed with the accomodation, it was rather dated and the bathroom could have done with a makeover. The tiles had mildew and the bath was rather yellow. When putting water in the sink it ran all over the floor as the tap was slightly misaligned. The curtains were a little tatty and the bed was uncomfortable. Also the tea making facilities were inadequate, only two tea bags, not enough for two people.

Stayed in room 555, scruffy and not as clean as it should be ! Room cold heating inadequate bathroom freezing and not able to turn on towel rail. Blind in bathroom broken, toilet handle broken could do with good clean. Kettle and hair dryer dirty. This hotel needs a complete refurbishment. Would not recommend it.Much better high quality B&B's in the area with full English for same price, all fully booked this last resort !!!

I didn't like the fact that the layout is like a motel with most of the rooms away from the main hotel. The room was in serious need of refurbishment. The heating system is poor and needs replacing, the bathroom was cold and dirty. No internet access.

Excellent parking - straightforward reservation system A12 noise not a problem for rooms at rear of hotel. Disliked 2 conflicting sources of music in lounge ( tv and background) Choice of background music not at all restfull - ideal for younger set but there were none only staff.

I thought the staff worked really hard at my nephew's wedding. The coffee,at the bar, was expensive and one of the most unpleasant coffee I have tasted.

Communal areas very nice, especially bar and dining room. Spa nice although I travelled with my elderly aunt and the stairs up and down were not ideal to use the swimming area. We were only offered the disabled changing facility when on the way out. The reception staff and waiters in the bar/dining room were excellent and very helpful. Stairs in spa as above and room (we had 226) was more like a budget chalet than a luxury room. There were cracks in walls and black mould in bathroom especially round windows and shower was cold. We did not complain as we were only staying 1 night but I would not have wanted to stay in the room for longer, which is a shame as the staff were excellent and food was very good (especially the 2 for £10 afternoon tea and the offers on 1, 2 or 3 course specials for lunch). All in all if the room had been nicer I would have come back in future.

My room was independently heated therefore not reliant on a hotel central heating system thus giving better control on room temperature. The shower was pretty bad. Next to no water pressure. It was just about useable for me but if my wife had been with me and needed to wash her hair it would not have been good.

Hotel is nice. But some rooms need updating desperately. We were lucky and stayed in the main building. But my mum and sister stayed in what was the barn. These rooms are cold and very dated.
