Breakfast was really good and the lady who served us was very nice. The water running down the walls in our bedroom. The slamming of doors all night ie the doors where not sound proof.

My room was very cold. I put the radiator to maximum and the room was still chilly. I had to double the quilt over to keep warm at night.

After paying £2.00 for parking we returned to the hotel to discover carpark was overflowing. During the night we were roused by reception twice to move the car for others to get out of parking spaces. Would not reccomend this hotel to those using a car until their carpark has been upgraded adequately. Why charge us for parking if there were no proper spaces left?

Location is far too noisy because of its proximity to noisy pubs and clubs (sleep almost impossible). Staff were aware of noise problem but little had been done to insulate the hotel from noise pollution.

Rooms were a good size, good amenities has a full gym and free parking Shower in both rooms we booked did not work properly in fact we had front staff come up to the room and then had to call for maintanence staff. By that time shower had been on for ten minutes. Particularly worrying since sign in the bathroom warned that having a shower with the bathroom door open would set off fire alarms for the entire hotel.

It was very nice I didn't like the fact that there was little kids running up an down the corridor at 7am on a Saturday morning and the fact that the fire alarm was tested at 9:30am on Saturday without warning

It was good value and able to have a double room for single occupancy ( in my experience single rooms are nothing more than box rooms). Availability of leisure activities. Location good. Appreciated the fact that had leisure facility but thought looked a liottle tired and not particularly well set out.

Given that I had stayed there in the past, it has lowered it's standards. Room was cold, door was very stiff and needed to be banged to close. Room was basic. Shower had preset temp that couldn't be adjusted. Tv had to text, channels were limited. No bbc Scotland radio, that I could find, as it was throught tv.

The location in relation to travel, ie busses/trains The hotel is rather worn and there was a smell of damp in the corridors (top floor) from what appeared to be leaks from the roof and windows. The room was quite cold despite the radiator being very hot but the staff did provide extra heat and bedding.

I found the hotel to be clean and welcoming. The room was lovely , clean and spacious. I also enjoyed the use of the swimming pool and sauna. The car park was jammed packed upon arrival however we did manage to get parked eventually. The noise from the street was quite loud even though we were 4 floors up and the breakfast at £10 per person was a bit to expensive for my liking.

The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly and it was a convenient location to the railway station and Raigmore Hospital where I had planned business there. The views overlooking River Ness were niceand the food was excellent. The Mercure is a tired hotel which needs a revamp. I had to report that the electrical flex on the iron had given me a shock whilst using as the live wires were exposed. The kettle in my room kept simmering even though the automatic switch was off so I had to turn it off at the wall. The tv handset kept sticking. The cushion on my bed smelt stale and was not washed and fresh. The bath taps would not turn off and needed new washers.
