Location was brilliant. It was advertised as having a modern bathroom, which when I arrived found that it had no bath just a very small shower. The room was very small and I think £10 charge for room service is appalling. When I had food at the bar having just a small budget with work, I was shocked to see I had overspent because they added a service charge. As a lone eater I didn't want the added embarassment of bringing this up with the staff.

The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. My room was at the back of the hotel and so was reasonably quiet at night. My room was big and roomy and the bed reasonably comfortable. It was very good to have feather pillows. It was very useful to free WiFi in the lounge area. There was a big a easily accessible car park. The cooks need to learn to cook. At two different meals I was brought something that I didn't order - prawn sandwich instead of club sandwiches. Chips and rice rather than just rice. The chefs idea of chicken caesar salad was a very nice salad and a whole hot and rather grey looking chicken leg. I think it was microwaved. On another occasion I ordered a tomatoe and mozzarella cheese salad. However, the cheese most definately was not soft, moist, round and white - it was hard rectangle and off white in colour. When I questioned the type of cheese I was told that the head chef did the ordering and that it was mozzarella. In fairness the hotel the receptionist took the price of the final meal off my bill.

Location was very good for shops and Curve theatre. Lounge has a nice relaxing atmosphere and when the city is bustling with people at night it's nice to know you can enjoy a peaceful atmosphere with a doorman to ensure it stays that way The rooms themselves are dated, we booked a double room but once we checked in found both rooms were twins. Beds were comfortable though. Fine for one night. Staff did the basic function not necessarily friendly but pleasant.

Room was so small and cold very old fashioned & you couldn't use the wardrobe as a heavy chest of drawers was in the way, stayed in this room for one night and decided to complain, the receptionist immediately moved us to a fab room ( I have stayed in this hotel many times & can't believe the poor quality of the first room, also when checking out the receptionist was very rude and abrupt when I asked about the car park prices, very disappointed

Great location, and parking facility. The bed was comfortably, and our room was huge! It was very noisy at night, as the hotel is very close to night clubs etc in the city centre, and as it was Christmas there were a lot of end of term celebrations going on! I suspect this was because of the time of year, but the hotel is very comfortable and we were happy in all other respects.

The rooms are average and are a little worn. The mattress seemed quite old and springy so not very comfortable. As it was only for one night, it was "livable". The room was very warm with no instructions for maintaining the temperature.

The location was excellent, parking an advantage. Spacious bathroom and comfortable room. Staff very friendly and helpful. Found the breakfast disappointing. No fresh bread as suggested on the menu. Fruit a bit limited. Hotel was a bit noisy during night, due to Christmas parties.

Location and the expectation of a £100 a night hotel were the reasons for booking. Location great expectations not met by a mile. £100 a night for a room that was the size of box room with furniture that was flat pack from the 70'S. It had all the prerequisits, bed, bath, toilet and that was where it finished.

The grandness of the building, the atmosphere was good. Brought some friends back for a late drink in the hotel and it was closed, so disappointed with that. But overall a pleasant stay. Also we made our booking online and they had no record of our reservation. My final observation was the magazine in the room should have been about Leicester and local attractions and business's not something which is alien to the city.

Very friendly staff and very easy access with the hotel being only a short walk away from the train station. Room was well presented and clean and only problem I had was the tv not owrking which was fixed 5 mins off me phoning down to reception. Cracking view from my room of a wall > Thought breakfast would be self service but instead is a waiter service with the food being cooked from scratch which may suit many travellers but I was in a hurry and had to wait 20 mins for the food to arrive.

The staff were helpful and pleasant and the public areas of the hotel very comfortable. The room was very cold. The bath plug leaked making for an unsuccessful bath. Both these points were reported to reception on leaving. Also there were a lot of roadworks in the vicinity and I found it difficult to reach the hotel by car. This could have been mentioned on the website.

The room was clean and modern, the staff were couteous and efficient The shower was more of a trickle, the dining area near reception has no atmosphere whatsoever (as a lone female it wasn't comfortable) and the food didnt represent good value.
