Just 5 minutes from the M8 motorway the Cairn Hotel is a 15-minute drive from Edinburgh Airport. The hotel offers tastefully-decorated modern rooms and has a library, restaurant and bar.

tired decor and breakfast extra cost
We were there on an overnight stay but the place was clean and tidy and the staff on General were pleasant.
The cost of the evening meal and breakfast were ridiculous. This is a basic restaurant not Gordon Ramsey's and the food was over priced with small helpings.
Nice bathroom and hairdryers that work. Clean fresh sheets and duvets. Wake up calls were on time. Restaurant staff were friendly and efficient.
Carpet felt dirty, there was a sticky spot, like a piece of chewing gum that was right on the side of my bed and I had to avoid it
Friendly staff . Close to shops.
Rock hard pillow. No choice to get a soft pillow after asking at reception.
convenient to shops and facilities so plenty to do
faulty tv should have been replaced on the first visit
good to get to edinburgh
Generally I enjoyed my stay with a good level of comfort and facilities.
The one black mark was the quality of soundproofing in that the disturbance from the room above was unacceptable even though the occupants were not making an excessive amount of noise.
Price better than alternatives but not particularly good value.
Room fixtures and fittings a bit tired looking. Staff on reception looking disinterested/ just going through the motions. No eye contact from person checking me out, etc.
Location, good breakfast, facilities and extras in room
Staff not friendly or informative, tv signal poor, breakfast times not long enough, mattress too hard
Service...meals...room... Proximity to a great shopping precinct..like wow!!!!! Booking from aUSTRALIA I read 40 miles as 40 kLMS..oOPS...WORTH The DRIVE..mET at 1 A.M. with cHampagne and sandwiches..after a 22 hour travelling day..God bless you
No elevator....lugging heavy luggage up two flights iof stairs no fun
Staff very helpful and good ambassadors for the Company. Facilities very good, food good, location well placed.
Price when compared to other similar hotel chains. Hotel is looking tired and need of a refurb.
Friendly staff Evening meal was good
Hotel is in need of modernisation, bedroom was clean but "tired" and having just come from Germany and Netherlands and stayed in cheaper hotels of much higher standard this was very disappointing. Accor hotel group in Europe is far better. Breakfast was pathetic and choice very poor.
rooms and décor just a bit shabby and need of make over
Friendly staff and very helpful
Reasonable distance from venue. Quiet room. Comfortable bed.
Threadbare furniture in bar and tired furniture in restaurant. Peeling wallpaper in room. Lack of ventilation in room - no a/c. "Rubber" overcooked eggs for breakfast. £4 for a pint of mediocre beer is over the top.
The swimming pool was a relaxing experience to end the day - not busy and very satisfying.
The cleanliness was an issue the floors especially could have been a lot cleaner in my opinion.
Staff very good
Price. Ran out of beer Ran out of Guinness.
Didn't like anything. The fact that I was refunded after a terrible stay.
Food was terrible The bed linen was dirty The towels were stinking The corridors were smelly and dirty There was no elevator. I had my father-in-law with me who had arthritis and had a tough time climbing up and down. The staff were not very courteous. Breakfast got over even before the stipulated time. When asked about it, the staff simply refused to do anything. The juice glasses were not washed properly.
pool, breakfast, room, bed
Staff were helpful. Hotel was clean and bed was comfy. Evening meal was excellent. Really lovely food.
Hotel was in the middle of no where. Spent a fortune on taxis to get us to and from the train station as there was no way you could walk. Breakfast was overpriced and eggs benedict overcooked.
Not a lot really breakfast you were shoved into a corner because there was German trips in the hotel the bar was very poorly stocked run out of various drinks not once but a few times don't think we will stay again by choice.
Room was very comfortable. Location was good and in general hotel facilities were good.
Disappointed with breakfast as a lot of items had run out and were having to be cooked, Table was not cleaned before our crockery was put onto it so we wiped it ourselves and the waitress was very surly to the point of being rude and turning off the commonwealth games on the TV that we were watching as we ate and replacing it with the news coverage of an Air crash!!
Nice and comfortable
How easy it was to find. Great for McArthur Glen. So quite no noise at all. Excellent stay.
