The facilities are very good. I loved the fact you dont have to leave till 12 on a sunday.....that is a huge bonus ...a usp for sure. My main critiscism is your reception staff and breakfast staff...they are surley and not polite...everything seems too much trouble. If the other things had nt been good I would never think of going back We had to ask rather than be told basic information...no energy or enthusiasm from the staff. Even the gym superviser looked miserable

We came to get away for the night after a hectic Xmas and booked the Mercure as it had a pool. We were really happy with the facilities and the service we received and will certainly stay here again.

God location. Gym was good and the pool excellent. Pool staff helpful. Two double beds per room very good too. No airconditioning and room very stuffy. Lack of toiletries and tea making scant (one transfer between 4 people!) Reception staff poor in training and attitude. Very expensive for what you get, especially breakfast!

I did not realise it was in the middle of an industrial estate. There is no mention of this in the hotel information that I read. If I had known I would not have stayed there. That probably explains why the restaurant has no natural light because of the presumably poor views. The restaurant food was poor. The fishcakes contained little or no fish and was little more than soggy mash. The air conditioning unit was intrustively loud. I paid almost £150 for a 1 night stay. I will not return to this hotel. I should add that I travel extensively with work. I have never previously complained about a stay at a hotel. Enough said.

Facilities (Swimming Pool, Jakuzi and Sauna) are good and Breakfast (quality of food) are fantastic Reception Staff, who checked us in didn't smile to us. She is not friendly and even drinking her water when she was serving us. Tone of speaking was poor and unprofessional. Basically, most of the staff at the hotel need to be trained to smile and be friendly. Even waitress who served us for the breakfast didn't greet to us when we getting in the restaurant.

Having the space in the room and the media package to relax in the evening with - there wasn't much other entertainment within walking distance of the hotel. I had expected more of a luxury feel to the Suite we had booked, the layout was unattractive - the room was L shaped and bent around a corner. I also expected there to have been a robe and slippers - so consequently I had not brought my own.The toiletries were functional but not luxurious as advertised (for example there was no conditioner), again the drinks in the room were functional (no hot chocolate sachets or cold drinks other than water)

The access to the pool, sauna, jacuzzi and gym. Price of food in the resturant. The food looked brilliant and I'm sure tasted delicious too. but as there was a resturant across the road at half the price we used that.
