Whole time there very enjoyable staff food excellant highly recommended short walk to shops in pubs good
The character of the place. All the wood and very comfortable. Dinner and breakfast were fabulous! Felt right at home. Enjoyed everything about it.
staff were very friendly and courtious rooms are large beautifull building
the shower head was caked with dirt and the shower bracket was too, grouting on shower/bath walls grimmy. food debris on tablecloth at breakfast from night before and food was well over priced, staeted that the chips were hand made, they was frozen or were re-heats the portion sizes very small and the lemon curd (from a jar) dessert was an insult to the £5 odds they charged for the one little scoup of ice cream and dollop of cream but as this hotel is in a prime site it gets away with the over charging,,,, shame
Food was fantastic and the staff were very helpful
enjoyed our stay, very friendly staff
The ambience, good food and location for festival events. Great stay
Lovely building looks very nice. Good food and friendly staff!
Tiny room on the lower ground floor. Dated bathroom fittings and 80's decor that badly need's to be freshened up. Not what I was expecting from the description on the website.
The room was large, more like a suite. Bar prices very very reasonable. Food excellent and so were the staff
Although the room was large it was a bit dated.
Old world charm and peaceful Comfy bed
Too pricey for actual standard of hotel Slow service for breakfast
very helpful staff. Lovely setting Peace and quiet
Staff were very good and attentive. Room very comfortable.
Radio too loud in the breakfast room. Eating breakfast to Queen was just a bit too much. Top 10 radio not quite our thing.
very nice old house, neat and tidy
Staff were very helpful, cheery and pleasant.
Bedroom facility in annexe was like living in a shoe-box, v disturbing noise from adjoining rooms! Huge unappettising quantity of chips served with meals - chef's attempt to bulk-up meal.
The location, the parking, the fact that it had catering and bar facilities
It didn't have a lift or porter, the room was small, the bed was uncomfortable and small, you could not sit correctly on the toilet, and the TV was poorly appointed and the shower was poor.
The staff were very accommodating and friendly. The restaurant offered a reasonable choice of excellent food.
Perhaps a little more TLC to an old, but still regal looking hotel.
Friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, the menu choices, and quality of food served.
A bit tired, and in need of redecoration. There was mould in our bathroom, and the entire hotel was needing new wallpaper and a lick of paint.
We were allowed our dog and there is a large garden to give her a walk There was a wedding party on the Saturday afternoon and it was great to watch all the guests have a great time loads a small kids dresses all smart enjoying the large front garden
Nothing to report in this section
The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was superb. We will definitely go back again.
Staff very helpful had an early flight on the last morning and light breakfast provided. Breakfast and Evening meal very good quality food
Very friendly staff and very helpful. Lovely meals and and staff were very attentive. The meals were reasonably priced and value for money.
The bathroom was very clean but could have done with an upgrade. Didn't like the bathroom being carpeted and some of the tiles near the bath had some mould on them.
Location. Food and service was good as was room size.
We booked a family suite and have 2 young children. Our youngest is being potty trained and had a slight accident on the floor. We were disgusted by the accusation it was the dog before the issue was discussed with us and a £40 fine seemed excessive for a hotel esp as we openly stated we had young children. I would not visit again with a family.
Good service. Location Very specious room
Shower needs some maintenance
Very good breakfast
Bathroom needs to be renewed - urgently! WiFi was free but very slow.
Good food and excellent staff in the bar. Comfortable accommodation.
The first room we were offered was over the kitchen ventilation duct. From the middle of the afternoon it was very noisy. The staff were very helpful in finding an alternative room which was a great improvement.
