Ramside Hall Hotel & Golf Club  

The room was very good. Used as a base for visiting relatives and would stay again. Reception got me a cab to Durham as soon as I asked.

I am not a lover of steak so the restaurant didn't really attract me so I had to go to Durham. A more varied menu would be better, but the people I spoke to raved about the food so it's a personal choice at the end of the day

standard rooms are over or near the kitchen with extractor fan noise being incessant and intolerable. This is the second time I have been allocated rooms in this part of the hotel and will not be returning because of this

Pleasant views from the windows. Nice bar and restaurant area with spacious feeling but private areas. Nice bathroom and confortable bed

Thought the decor was dated in bedroom and quite dark. Thought the meals were extremely expensive as the mains did not come with sides and I complained about the side dish as literally 2 spinach leaves!

We asked for a different room and the receptionist was so helpful and our room was perfect

The carvery food was cold and bland but the fish and chips were delicious

Friendly and helpful staff, the food and the garden to relax in.

No gym facilities or pool

The hotel was okay staff polite but not great on friendly.

Checked in to a room beside Kitchen extraction and informed by reception on calling (the room reflected the rate and information was in the small print) Not great customer service?

Room (333) excellent with first class facilities. Comfy bed and lovely grounds to stroll around. Food good quality and served hot!

Drinks prices are expensive

sauna not working and steam room not working properly barley warm but staff worked very hard to correct this. engineer on site would have been helpful

The decor, the bed was like sleeping on clouds

Check was very smooth and friendly. The room was very comfortable and clean. Plenty of areas to relax.

I was there for my sons wedding and had an amazing time. The room was lovely and food great. Ceremony well organised.

None of the rooms ready on arrival and it was well after the 2pm check in time. Staff in marquee not experienced enough and bar kept running out of beer.

Lovely setting.very friendly and helpful staff. Some nice extra touches e.g. Complimentary fruit bowl.

We were there for an evening wedding party. The marquee was a bit cold

Had to be moved rooms due to the music downstairs on till midnight had to have early night that night

The food was great. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and comfortable and the bath was huge.

I was charged twice for breakfast.

The comfort of the rooms, how clean and luxurious everything was.

It would have been fab to have a spa. View wasn't very good for the money spend on room as it looked out onto a wall in the carpark and people could see into our room if the curtains weren't shut.

Room not ready before 2pm even though we were attending a wedding which was at 2pm. We're told to go and get changed in the golf club. Bar staff would not serve in the ballroom at 12.45pm so were told to go to the main bar and then come back. Until very helpful member of staff in restaurant area rang the duty manager to ask if we could go back through as bar shouldn't open until 1pm. Bit of a jobsworth award due there I feel.

The staff were friendly and helpful and the facilities were outstanding. The rooms were very luxurious and the prices in the restaurant and bar were readonable- something you dont often find in nice hotels. Looking forward to coming back!

Was pleased to hear there will be a pool and spa soon which will add to the experience further!

stake house restaurant poor service. Food was overpriced for the amount served. False impressions that table water was free. Room was not as deluxe as was advertised on the web. note in room stated there was access to Sky sports but this was not the case.

The room was beautiful and very clean. The staff we very helpful, in particular the young lady on reception. The Rib restaurant was delicious and service really good.

We were situated on the first floor which we weren't aware of came with 'noise' from the function rooms below. We were looking for a quiet break especially since I am pregnant. When we returned to the room around 8pm we could hear the singer in our room, it was as if they were playing in our room and not some background noise. We went for a meal and tried to stay out late. We returned to our room at 11.45pm and a disco was in full blast and after contacting reception was told this would be until 00.30am which I feel was a bit late. I was extremely tired and did not enjoy not being able to relax and go to bed at a reasonable time not to expect noise. Had we been made aware of this, I wouldn't have booked or I would have requested a room where there was no noise so put a dampner on our stay there.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Room was very clean and spacious. Lovely four poster bed.
