Extremely comfortable, Food in Restaurant, Carvery and Steak Grill of a high standard, well cooked and presented. Can't speak highly enough of the staff, very friendly, professional and approachable. We had a brilliant overnight stay at ramside, staff were very friendly and helpful, especially reception and in the golf shop. My partner played 9 holes before we left and found it an excellent course. Our room was large and gorgeous and a fantastic bath. Very easy to find off the a1. Breakfast was a huge selection. Plenty of parking, we got one right by our room.

Lovely room (de-luxe), lovely view of the golf course. Super staff. Very good food in the Rib Room restaurant. Lovely public areas. The wedding reception we attended there went off without a hitch. Very minor things but annoying just the same. There were a couple of bulbs missing in our bedroomroom and bathroom. Despite the bathroom having two sinks we were onlty given one bar of soap. Housekeeping forgot to replace the shower gel on the seconf day of a two night stay.

Nice location. Efficient staff. Clean. A four star hotel with only 9 tv channels is very disappointing. WiFi coverage is weak and also disappointing. It's a bit of a tussle to sleep under a quilt the size of a tennis court contained in a quilt cover the size of a football pitch.

Very relaxing. No problems whatsoever. Through work I stay in some top end hotels and this one also being local to me is up there with them. Room could have been a bit more modern also wasn't keen on the dividing door assuming I had been put in a potential family room.

Nice setting, good view of nice garden area, the bed was very comfy, whole place was very clean and tidy and the Reception Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Also the food was at a high standard, we loved the little sauce pans with the steaks. Haha. Very cold, including bar. restaurant, room, but the room did have a heater which makes up for it, in the room anyways. Also the beers were very expensive.

Very pleasant staff & the cleanliness. Shower did not work :( Not me in case any1 thinks I can't operate a shower! On a serious note, I was in room 201 & shower had next to no water coming out & would only run cold. (Good job I was only there one night)

It's set in beautiful surroundings and we had a gorgeous, clean room and view. Staff were very pleasant. Would recommend. There was an Antique Fair we got up early to attend on the Sunday. Unfortunately we were ushered into the Neville suite where it was supposed to be but all that was there was a wedding preparation. Nobody seemed to know where it was. Also a bit of a hike through corridors for restaurant from reception. But over all was a gorgeous luxurious hotel to stay in.

We came for a wedding with my elderly father. The hotel was impressive and we were made very welcome. My father was taken poorly during our stay and therefore missed the wedding but when we told the Restaurant Manager, he went out of his way to ensure my father was given a meal which was very kind and much appreciated. Thank you for a lovely weekend.

Very friendly and relaxed location. Rooms, food staff and location excellent Breakfasts were great plenty of choice but we thought that the price was a little high if you just wanted a continental breakfast. I understand it was a buffet type set up but there should have been some way of telling which type of breakfast you had thus cutting costs for some people

Very friendly staff. Free wifi and comfortable room. Restaurant food was excellent and reasonably priced. Only downsides were limited tv choice but it did have Sky Sports and roadworks on dual carriageway which didn't allow direct access and took you on a 5 mile detour! Anyhow I would stay again.

All the staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excelent with many little extras. The carvery was very reasonable. There were several lounges and these were interesting and well furnished. The gardens were very spacious amd provided amazing views from the hotel Plenty of free parking and well signposted. Very close to Durham's excelent park and ride The breakfast was quite expensive and not included in the room price but was good value for money

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was large and the bed really comfortable. It was very quiet at night so we slept well. The fillet steaks in the restaurant were delicious. The menu is a little restricted in that there are not many fish choices. We did get a good rate on a flash deal and therefore breakfast was extra but very good, lots of fresh fruit etc The hotel is great for visiting Durham as it is 5 minutes walk to the park and ride into the centre. I would definitely recommend Ramside to friends.

“A nice hotel in pleasant surroundings. No lift present but that was not a problem for me. Some of the furniture looked a little dated but I think that was the intention. The room was clean and the breakfast excellent. Would stay again.” John, Cardiff |
