Location was good, polite staff at the reception desk. Room was rather small - not enough room to fully open the cupboard at the bottom of the bed. Breakfast service was slow. We arranged to have tea in the drawing room, and it was disappointing that the piano player left so early. |

The service and helpfulness of the concierge and reception staff was excellent. The reception manager was especially helpful as they seemed to have no record of my reservation made through Booking.com The service and standard of breakfast left much to be desired |

I stayed here with my daughter and we had a beautiful room in the main building, our stay was everything I would expect from a 5 star hotel. The staff were helpful and courteous. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel. This is a very minor point but we stayed in October and the weather was very mild, however the heating was on in the hotel and it was uncomfortably hot. |

The Morse association, we were particularly pleased to have room 310 which we understand was actually used during filming of the series. The car parking arrangements, having paid £25 each day to park in the hotel car park we expected to be able to leave our vehicle there whilst we had afternoon tea on the day of our checkout, unfortunately we were told by a very rude concierge that we had to remove the car by 12 midday. Needless to say we didn't stay for afternoon tea which was a great disappointment to us. This incident and lack of customer care spoilt what was otherwise an enjoyable break. |

As a long time Inspector Morse fan, how could anything be wrong? This is a world class hotel, very efficient, exceptionally well trained staff. Fastest valet parking I have ever seen.I just wish my conference elsewhere in the city had lasted longer! What value does the Macdonald brand add other than association with some badly run, tired hotels and resorts elsewhere in the UK? Just revert to plain old Randolph you can add 25% to the rates. |
