The staff were extreemly nice, unfortunately I fell poorly during my stay and we were supposed 2 check out at 11 but they let us stay until 1 free of charge so I could try and pull myself around for the long drive home, which was so kind of them as I was really ill. Very down to earth staff and great to talk to, they made us feel so at home and welcome, Thankyou will definately be staying again!!

Friendly helpful staff. There was a 'stag' party using the hotel, who caused disturbance overnight. A party in a room close to mine caused noise which disturbed my sleep. In the morning, we were faced with this group, still drinking beer in the same room that the breakfast was being served in. The breakfast bar needed replenishing with several items - juice, hot items of food, butter. We had to queue and wait for all of these. The tea and coffee were awful - just a dish of instant coffee/ tea bags and a flask of hot water - no saucers available, just cups. The tables were not cleared. The toaster was slow, leading to a queue. Then the bread ran out.....

I was staying there to go shopping at the metro centre so the hotel was situated close by. The downstairs lounge and bar area were very modern and nicely decorated. The beds were very uncomfortable and the room was dated and would be in need of modernising. The tv didn't work properly and there was no free view which i think should be offered everywhere these days. The breakfast was inedible and of poor quality.

Its a very basic hotel. The bathroom was dirty, the taps were broken. Some of the lights didnt work. There was dog hair in the spare blankets. It took agaes for me to order my breakfast, when it did come, the sauasages were rock hard I could not cut them, I could not find any staff to complain to. Only had 3 channels that worked on the tv. And it was not clearly stated that you needed to get the remote from reception.

Not a lot - food was ok but needs better surroundings to do it justice. Had to ask for bedding to be changed when we arrived at the hotel as the bed was not properly made up (only a bottom sheet and cover) and the cover was badly stained. The hotels own literature refers to their 'refurbished' rooms, but new curtains etc are no good if housekeeping doesn't make sure the place is clean! The place is obviously popular with groups of young people going on drunken nights out - we encountered naked men running around the corridors early in the evening and had to call reception for help when there were loud arguments outside our room at 4.30am. Terrible place unless you plan to be one of the drunken party-goers.

Room size and room facilities were average for this price range. No remote available for television. Bathroom fitments were badly fitted/came apart. Breakfast facilities and waiting staff availability was poor. Food was however well cooked and hot when received. General decor and lighting in Bar/Dining area was poor and requires attention.

Booked with the intention of visiting the metro centre which it was ideally suited for. The meals were good and plentiful, Buffet in the morning but a good selection. A lively bar downstairs. With some noise which did not bother me but my wife found disturbing. Unfortunatly there was a Hen party and a Stag party on the same landing a few doors down, but not a problem for me, light sleepers might object. All in all a good break and a good value for money hotel, would stay there again.

Its a nice clean hotel, friendly staff, also our main draw is that they allow dogs. Apart from that have stayed there twice and enjoyed visit The only downside though they allow dogs, there is no dog bins on outside, which is worrying when you have a dog

The location for what we wanted to visit, ease of finding and pleasantness of staff. Not intimate enough for the type of stay we were looking for. Too much like a commercial overnight stay hotel.

Just off the a1 so very accesible; also on the fringe of the urban area The room had a very modern tv which doubtless would also receive radio on dvb, but could not use it (I do like breakfast tv or r4 when getting up!) Because there was no "Wand" to operate it "They have all been stolen by hen party people" was the message I was given. The breakfast service could be better presented - some fresh fruit perhaps; and is it really beyond possibility to have an offer of a pot of tea or fresh gound coffee (With a refill available) rather than a pump flask with a dish of tea bags and another of instant coffee?

The staff were very friendly, with a efficient manner, obviously well trained. The facilities were all that we needed, Large airy room, with good sized bathroom. Quality towels, good bed with additional pillows if required. A comfortable lounge bar with additional space if needed, also an outside area, for having a drink in the sunshine. Breakfast was well cooked, and nothing seemed to be a problem for them. Plenty of free car parking space. There were a few minor points that did nothing to spoil our stay. One bedside light switch would not engage, therefore the light could not be turned on. The cold tap in the bathroom sink was missing the top section. A tile on the bathroom floor was loose. Finally as with most hotels, there was only one chair to sit on. The word double or twin room should tell them that more than one chair is needed, I personally do not like sitting on a bed to read. Having read other reviews, as I did not visit on a Friday or Saturday night, so I cannot comment on those reviews.

We were unknowingly put on the floor where stag and hen parties are usually located, woken at 3am by shouting, swearing and loud music. Bedroom carpet hadn't been hoovered nor had the bathroom floor been cleaned properly.Toilet and around taps on sink not cleaned properly(found couple of falsh eyelashes belonging to someone else on sink!! Bulbs missing from lamps and never have all 3 of us had to sleep on temporary beds in the same room before. Breakfast area had not been cleaned from the previous night and the area where the cereals etc were displayed left a lot to be desired. If we hadn't driven 5 hours from London and arrived at 10.30pm I don't think we would have stayed. The only redeeming factor was the new operational manager who appears to be trying to put things in order. Have been told to write letter of complaint and we will!
