A great little B&B with great hospitality. Great opens for meals ,both bistro and Restaurant options serving quality meals. We had a wonderful room overlooking a paddock of sheep. Very relaxing.
WiFi was a bit hit and miss ,but was able to get good signal in the conservatory.
The view from the lounge and terrace were lovely. Food very good, very clean, staff very helpful and friendly.
Good place to stay well looked after
Excess to main road was poor
Food, bed, comfort, cleanliness and warm welcome
A very warm welcome on arrival, our room was lovely with a fantastic view. Breakfast was superb with loads of choice, we ate in the bistro bar in the evening and again the food was brilliant. The staff were all really friendly and nothing was to much trouble. We are now planning our next visit.
Peace and Quiet.
There was nothing to dislike.
Very friendly and welcoming staff. Huge bedroom. Great bed.
Dated bathroom with feeble shower Flies in breakfast room, food uncovered.
Staff, building, views and breakfast
A very nice location with extremely friendly staff and excellent facilities. The rooms are in very good condition, being recently refurbished. I should also mention the food which was always well prepared from a good menu. We certainly intend to visit again
Not too much really.. the WiFi was rather weak, except in the downstairs lounge. Immediate walking options were limited because of a road behind the hotel. It would have been useful to have some walking-guide maps available. (Perhaps they were, but we did not see them).
beautiful scenery ,peaceful, relaxing
Everything about this hotel is great. Food, rooms, location, staff are superb and Mike is the perfect host.
Asolutely nothing to dislike
Excellent host Mike Cornish , staff were extremely polite & helpful. The two chefs are worth there weight in gold, the food was awesome. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anybody, & will be going back in the near future. The best hotel in the lakes by far in my opinion.
The staff were really friendly and worked to make our stay even better. the room and ensuite were very clean. Fantastic food was served in the restaurant for our evening meal and for breakfast.
great food and service
The nice hotel room and the hotel's green and scenic surroundings. The hotel food is excellent too, dinner as well as breakfast. The hotel is clean and quiet.
All staff were incredibly friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Food was superb.
Wi-fi barely worked, but we discovered the whole of Cumbria was the same.
I liked evrey thing there very clean bathroom very nice views from room wounderfull stuff ,food is excellant specially the dinner ,beds are comfortable covers are good and clean
I cant find fan in ro also no mini bar
Meals were wonderful whether in coach house restaurant or bistro bar! The rosette they have recently been awarded for the restaurant was definitely deserved. Mike, the owner, and all his staff made us feel very welcome and were very friendly too.
Our bedroom (2) was a bit on the small side but I realise that they do have larger ones. Also the window looked directly onto the patio which since we were on the ground floor, too, meant not much privacy in the summer when everyone sat outside with their drinks.
Welcoming staff. Room was very clean and well equipped. Food was excellent and handy to have the choice between the restaurant or a bar-meal. Lovely views and great walk down to Lake Bassenthwaite.
Poor bus service to Keswick so had to take the car.
Very warm welcome from the owner and staff. Food was fantastic, great choice. Stayed in king superior, the room was very big, bed was really comfy and facilities great.
I liked evrey thing there . Bathrooms soooo clean . Lo cation is excellant amd dinner was more than excellant
The only thing is i cant find a fan in rooms the weather was hot during my stay time there also i didnt find mini bar in rooms
Location is superb. Hotel is excellent, owner and staff very helpful and friendly.
Meal at night very good. Also very obliging owner Mike.
Mike the owner is superb very helpful and informative. The setting is beautiful and the grounds excellent. It's really more of a small hotel than a bed and breakfast
Booked two superior rooms. One was but the other was very ordinary. However the kids were in that so it didn't matter!
