The relaxing atmosphere both indoors and out with views down to Lake Bassenthwaite. There is an excellent chef by the name of Rab who will cater for your needs if they differ from the main menus, such as vegitarian or gluten free. You also have and ecellent manager and his co-host who are more than happy to help outside of general duties. Good conversations can be had over dinner and carried out in the well stocked bar. On the downside the rooms are slightly on the small side, but that is reflected in the price and is more than compensated by the privecy and tranquility. |

The staff were very friendly & informative. Hotel is in a very quiet scenic location & the food was first class. Only downside to the stay was the bed in the room we had (room 2) which creaked badly every time we moved so never got a good sleep, was only for one night so put up with it. Also booked a superior room on website but got a small double room on arrival. |

Our stay was fabulous. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming; the location was amazing; the signature room we stayed in was huge, clean and lovely... would go back again or recommend to others anytime! |

Excellent service and the food was well cooked and presented. The site was in a very good position with ample parking space Whilst the actual site was good the access in and out is very poor in fact positively dangerous in accessing a busy road. The menu was very limited in the evenings and it was necessary to eat elsewhere to obtain variety. The 'superior' room was very small with cramped storage space. |

We felt it was a very friendly well run Hotel & the meals were excellent. The only problem we has was paint peeling in our shower & when I told the manager he assured me it would be fixed very soon...& I believe him |

The breakfast was excellent. The hotel was in a scenic place and near to Keswick. The Layout of the Lodge was very poor. The entrance was also the dining room in the evening and people were eating as we passed through to get to our room. The kitchen smells rose into our room even without the window open. The room needed updating and at the very least new pillows were needed. |

We were warmly welcomed by managers/staff that had a professional dispensation toward customer service. The location was in a scenic area with a variety of walks with the Lodge being very comfortable with excellent food at dinner & breakfast. Room itself was fabulous. Due to thickness of walls, the wifi internet only worked in the lobby/dining area; so, some hub-router extenders may resolve this issue. |

This family-run country hotel has mature gardens, an excellent food reputation, and spectacular views towards Bassenthwaite Lake and Skiddaw, 4 miles (6.4 km) from Keswick. |
