The staff were very nice and accommodating. The chef is amazing and really good with special food needs for a strict diet. Big Bathroom and a sizeable room.
Matress needs to be renewed, you could feel the springs. We felt like being a young couple they weren't as happy to accommodate us. The rules in the guest book were fair though we found £100 fee for any cleaning required due to eating external food in the room a bit high especially with our specific dietary requirements. They also seem to believe if you stay there you should eat your dinner here as well. £5 service fee on room service seemed unnecessary when all they had to do was walk up the stairs to the rooms, thus why we did not bother.
This hotel was one of the best we have stayed in when visiting the lakes. Everybody was so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent and the location beautiful.
The hotel continues to be one of the best in the area and also continues to improve - especially the restaurant and bistro .
Overall friendliness of hotel Nothing was too much trouble Excellent food
Towels a bit on the small side
The staff couldn't do enough to make our stay enjoyable. The evening meal was excellent, as we're the breakfasts. Wish we could have stayed longer.
Excellent rural location at a great deal The food is excellent, all three courses. The welcome from the staff very warming. Thanks would love to return (If only for a meal even)
From my first step through the door I received a warm and friendly welcome. I wasn't planning to eat until I smelled the food and saw their fantastic menu - and very reasonably priced. Plenty of spaces to relax and beautiful bedrooms. The early morning the views were stunning - and the breakfast was a great start to the day. WiFi access was also a plus point.
Having to leave so soon...
Most things but particularely the food. However the sum of the parts didn't add up to anything special for us. Promises in the welcome blurb to exceed our expectations perhaps set too high a standard. Pricy for the time of year.
WiFi a pain
The evening meal was fantastic. 6 very happy people.
Reception was hard to find, especially since it was a dark night.
It was such a lovely place with breakfast included. A short walk to the lake. Around 5-10min drive to Keswick. Such great value for money and great location. Very happy!
The staff were lovely, the food was great. The lodge was better than i expected the rooms were cleaned daily, we had breakfast every morning with superb service. our holiday at ravenstone was just perfect and we didnt want to come home, Many thanks to the staff
the wifi was quite weak, but this didnt dampen the holiday at all
Excellent food. Attentive service. Good value.
Staff extremely friendly and helpful Food was superb!!! Both breakfast and dinner Quality ingredients, cooked to perfection and presentation second to none.
Standard of room was disappointing for a description of superior albeit a very large room Overall quite dated.
THE WONDERFUL FRIENDLY HAPPY STAFF THAT MAKE YOU FEEL COMFORTABLE AND WELCOME. SCRUMPTIOUS FOOD.EXCELLENT LOCATION FOR THE NORTHERN LAKES AND KESWICK AREA.WOULD RETURN AT A DROP OF A HAT
food was excellent and staff were friendly.
noise from conservatory on a nightime.
Friendly staff who were always happy to assist, good location , very comfy rooms , great times for breakfast and checkout ... Excellent food/ meals with a bar
Really nice food and service was excellent. Mike and Jane has been very good host.
The bed is a bit squeaky.
My single accommodation was a double room so it was a good value B&B for my overnight stay. The room and the en-suite with shower were spotlessly clean. Breakfast choices were excellent and the fare was thoroughly enjoyable - real coffee too!
Nothing at all!
Booked as a last minute get away to lift my spirits following ankle surgery sustained whilst road biking, I was not in the best frame of mind to please...however this hotel managed to achieve this. The location, staff and food were just what I needed to remind me why I love the Lake District and Cumbrian hospitality - just what the doctor ordered. Nothing was too much trouble, the staff were caring and the food was..... delightful. We will definitely be back when I am recovered to enjoy the beautiful hills.
Unfortunately the hotel did not have a lift, which made getting upstairs difficult on crutches. However, the hotel did locate us in the nearest room to the stairs, which was very large and had a walk in shower and a hand rail on the bath - this more than made up for the time it took me to get up the short staircase...so thank you.
Location, staff, restaurants, cream teas, breakfasts, menu choices
Room small. Not enough seats in the lounge for pre-dinner drinks
The food was amazing, the owner is a wonderful person who really wants people to have a good time once they arrive.
Beautiful view from bedroom Large bed
Bathroom needed updating Could hear other guests
The location; the friendliness of the staff; the food in the restaurant and at breakfast; the views from the hotel; the ambience; our room.
