Helpful friendly staff and excellent chef with good food. Beautiful location Convenient Bus stop outside
Staff very friendly & helpful. Food brilliant. Position great for walking or exploring.
Could do with a porch or outhouse to remove muddy boots and waterproofs rather than at the car in the car park. Wi Fi in rooms poor but this had been explained on arrival.
This is the first time we have stayed at the Ravenstone Lodge and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We really liked the cosiness and the staff were really friendly and helpful.
A little more variation in the evening dinner menu would have been good.
Excellent staff first class food great room.
On arrival we were met by Sharon who was very friendy and informative. our room was beautiful stayed in room 9 we ate at both the restaurant and the bistro which were both outstanding for food and service. We would definitely visit again!!!! Loved it!!!!
Lovely building in a pleasant and peaceful setting, just right for a relaxing break in the Lakes. It`s handy for good local walks, short or challenging, and for visiting Keswick and Cockermouth.
The double room that we had was a little cramped.
Friendly staff Food was very good Being able to walk from the hotel without the need of the car
Wi-fi was variable
The staff were amazing the food outstanding I did not expect that level I had one of the best bits of turbot I have ever had and I've ate in many places. It is a wonderful place in a ideal location . But the best thing was the staff by far. And the price for the lakes value for money. Stayed at a few hotels in the lakes have paid twice as much for some hotels and they for me,did not compare. I will definitely return
Very freindly straff, good absolutely wonderful and lovely scenery.
minor dislike a couple of stains in the carpet in rm 4.
Warm welcome, lovely room, friendly staff, great food and whisky choice (some real rare malts). Will definitely stay again.
Good car parking, nice conservatory
We were in Room 5 awkward entrance to it and cramped, did not live up to Superior classification. Bed very uncomfortable. Patchy TV reception, poor view
Beautiful spot , would like to return in summer to appreciate the lovely terrace and see the sunsets which we are told are wonderful . Food was delicious and staff very friendly and helpful. Very near to Keswick for shops restaurants and bars.
No WiFi connection in bedrooms. Room quite small even though we were upgraded to a superior double from a standard double.
Very personal individual approach Well thought out menu Peaceful Attention to detail
The mattress could have been more sumptuous, however I am very fussy about beds
Everything is catered for in this exceptional little hotel, delicious cooked breakfasts with home baked bread, superb value for money evening meal menu and walks and climbs right on your doorstep.......excellent value.
Relaxing location, very friendly staff, beautiful views, lovely food, chilled out New Year - brilliant
Friendly staff Amazing breakfast Amazing location Comfortable bed and pillows Very clean and cosy
Creaky floor boards and we could hear talking through the walls. That's to be expected in an old building though.
Size of bedroom
Bed wasn't terribly comfortable
The staff were very friendly and efficient, Nice cosy atmosphere , conservatory is nice place to sit and have a drink. The food was excellent, both the meal we had in the Bistro bar and the breakfast. Didn't try the wifi so cant comment. Good location short drive from Keswick.
Room was cold when we , arrived and took some time to warm up.
The staff were very nice and accommodating. The chef is amazing and really good with special food needs for a strict diet. Big Bathroom and a sizeable room.
Matress needs to be renewed, you could feel the springs. We felt like being a young couple they weren't as happy to accommodate us. The rules in the guest book were fair though we found £100 fee for any cleaning required due to eating external food in the room a bit high especially with our specific dietary requirements. They also seem to believe if you stay there you should eat your dinner here as well. £5 service fee on room service seemed unnecessary when all they had to do was walk up the stairs to the rooms, thus why we did not bother.
This hotel was one of the best we have stayed in when visiting the lakes. Everybody was so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent and the location beautiful.
The hotel continues to be one of the best in the area and also continues to improve - especially the restaurant and bistro .
Overall friendliness of hotel Nothing was too much trouble Excellent food
Towels a bit on the small side
The staff couldn't do enough to make our stay enjoyable. The evening meal was excellent, as we're the breakfasts. Wish we could have stayed longer.
