Owner,manager and staff very pleasant and helpful. The house was in a very nice spot, you could go lovely walks or just relax outide or in the conervatory.

Housekeeping could be better in the bedroom/bathroom .Wobbly toilet seat still not fixed yet as noted in previous reviews and mould present in areas around shower cabinet. Kettle in room was very brown inside so put me off using it. If these issues addressed this would be an excellent place to stay

Clean, comfortable and relaxed. Lovely rooms. Staff ready to assist in any way possible. Good food for both dinner and breakfast, plenty of choice and beautifully prepared and presented.

Nice little home from home. Friendly and helpful staff. Nothing too much trouble. Top quality english breakfasts. Easy drive to Keswick and Ullswater. Would recommend for a peaceful lakes break.

I was looking for a place where I could relax in comfort, go for walks, with good food. The Ravenstone Lodge came up trumps on all accounts and the staff could not do enough for you.

I am trying to think of something negative but I can't, If they could control the weather that would be good.

The reason I returned to Ravenstone was the warmth of the staff and that is the reason I will continue to stay. Nothing is too much trouble and you quickly feel right at home.

Dinner menu hugely expensive, waitress didn't speak good English and gave our starters to another table.

The location was very nice with beautiful surroundings. Located near the lake provided beautiful morning views of the hills surrounding the north lakes. The room was superb with a very nice 4-poster bed, excellent bathroom and shower facilities.

We booked the evening meal in the hotel due to a taxi into Keswick costing £16 return. On advice from the hotel owner that they had a new chef from Europe and the food was excellent we decided to stay in. Unfortunately we were very disappointed with the food. Apart from being extremely overpriced for what we got the quality was very poor. My partner ordered a smoked mackerel starter which was described as such on the menu this then came served raw with the head and tail on the side of the plate, very off putting. Whilst my steak was very well cooked and tasted great the accompaniments were below par. Green beans and onions fried in what tasted like the steak oil and a measly portion of greasy chips were not worth the £17.95. When complaining of our displeasure to the manager we were given an "oh", no refund or apology. Poor customer service

We stayed in the superior room, the room was lovely. The bed was huge and the bathroom had a great bath and shower. The staff were really friendly and the breakfast was amazing! Would definitely recommend!

Menu was variable. Some really good tasty food but seemed like the vegetarian options were not up to the same standard.

Mike the manager was very welcoming and showed us around. A nice touch.

Did hav a slight issue late at night and could have done with seeing the duty manager at the time but didn't know where to find him. Sorted it out ourselves in the end.
