Beautiful setting and friendly relaxed atmosphere. Whilst the food was very good, the menu did not change very much over the visit. |

the quality and quantity of the food was very good, but this was reflected in the fairly high price charged. excellent central area for touring. potentially very good, but not fully realised by present owners. bathroom not cleaned or tidied during our stay. room decor and furnishings tired - needs refurbishment. no toiletries provided except for a bar of soap, and a shampoo dispenser in the shower. shower not working properly. lounge and bar not friendly - seating was more like an old folks home. games room smelt damp, and was not used by anyone in 2 days - unfriendly. not enough car parking spaces at weekends. owners have little experience of hotel business, and it shows. It did not live up to our expectations, for a fairly expensive weekend. |

It's in lovely area There was virtually no bar service. I was effectively paying a 100% single supplemnent for occupying a double room, even though the hotel was not full. |

We found the staff very friendly and helpful, the hosts caring and the food extra special. You do need your own transport though as it is out of town or village. A very good hotel for it price bracket. |

Food was great, other guests were friendly, staff warm and helpful. The hotel is quiet and close enough to drive to Lake District villages. You must have a car sif arriving by train or bus you should stay in Keswick. I expected it would be closer to the lake with a lake view. Evidently, not many hotels near Keswick do. There were some in Ambleside....but would be noisier I would think. |
