My 1st ever review, i felt compelled to write this. Beautiful location, stunning facilities, Excellent food & service. We have stayed in the Lador & borrowdale hotel & the ravenstone is head & shoulders above them in every way. In fact our stay in the ravenstone is the best we have had in any hotel & we are pretty hard to please! The owners made us welcome from the get go. Will definately be coming back. Thank you.

Pleasant surprises; fresh milk in the room; a bottle of Radox by the bath; a bath long enough to stretch out in; a sunlit grassy terrace for evening drinks. Staff very helpful;food simple and fresh.

The hotel is set in a magnificant position with views over the lake and fells. It's a lovely old building full of charm and character and spotless. The staff were friendly and obliging, nothing was too much trouble. The food was magnificent and for me, a coeliac, a dream as everything on the menu was Gluten Free! A little more pricy than we would normally pay but well worth it.

Friendly stuff, clean place, good food

The room is small, their was not lake view as stated in the website, it is rated as 4 star hotel however I think this more than what the hotel really deserve.

We loved everything about Ravenstone. The staff were marvellous, the room and restaurant were exceptional, and the ambience of the building was truly memorable! Kim and Cherin were wonderful hosts.

Very nice atmosphere, friendly staff, a very authentic family run hotel.

Very british: carpets everywhere, one of the rooms we occupied was quite dusty.

    Not much

Gloomy Victorian building Evening meal Soup salty and inedible - as admitted by the proprietor - tough meat in the main course We ate out for the subsequent two nights of our stay. First bedroom offered had two windows one a view of flat rooves the other a grassy bank This was changed on request A 40 minute wait for breakfast this was complained about at the time

Beautiful area, easy to get to from M6 Penrith, access to large area of Northern LakeDistrict, well- appointed room ( no. 2) with comfortable bed, pleasant en-suite bathroom, good views from bay window. Food was good, service friendly.

Does not have very extensive grounds but there is enough parking space.

The room was very comfortable nice shower and with a very good view. The garden was lovely to sit in and we had tea and biscuits on the lawn taking in the view, great.
