only a small thing we have the pillows very hard
Comfortable bed, and friendly staff :)
£3 service charge for room-service :(
Great staff, great room, good value, loads of parking, you won't be disappointed
Staff were very friendly and helpful
No faults with hotel. However the taxi service the hotel used for us left us stranded at our function. We were picked up from the hotel and dropped off at Wokingham cricket club. I was told by the driver to phone 15 minutes before we needed picking up for the return journey. When i called I was informed they would not pick up from the location I was at. No explanation just a simple refusal!
We were only there one night but had a sandwich at the Bar which was very good and breakfast next morning was excellent.
Having to extra for breakfast.
CHEAP Toilet paper which could have come from an army surplus store or public toilet, not impressed
Comfortable bed. Very quiet Excellent breakfast
We asked for a quiet room when we booked and again we checked when we arrived. The lady told us that they were not busy so it would be quiet. Well it was not, we were put next to a family with at least 2 children in their room and at 7.30am we were woken by them screaming and crying and the dad telling them off. Why don't hotels check who is in the next room when you ask for a quiet room?
24 December 2014 checked in at 5pm and paid for my room for both nights and #10 extra for each day for breakfast. The deputy manager (a foreign woman) did not explain she had taken the money for breakfast for both days. I had to ring down to reception to check. That evening i ordered chunky chips for dinner. when it was brought up the waiter said i had to pay in cash which was news to me as nowhere on the brochure or booking.com website mentioned i would have to pay cash each time for room service. I did not have any cash on me. I eventually paid over the phone. 25th December 2014 The night before i had put out the card to order breakfast asking for it to be brought up at 9.00am fifteen minutes later the food had not arrived so it was left to me to ring down to reception to chase the staff. A few minutes later it was brought to my room. I ordered toast, it was stone cold and the fresh fruit of two grapes white and pink melon and grapefruit smelt and tasted rancid so the deputy Manager was called to the room and it was replaced with more toast which wasn’t any warmer. The housekeeping cleaned my room but forgot to leave an order form to enable me to order breakfast the next day. At lunchtime I ordered a superfood salad and chunky chips. Fifteen minutes later the phone rang and it was the waiter who was dealing with my order stated i had to pay in cash which i did not have on me. I explained this and said i had paid for food the night before over the phone. He brought up the food and said i could charge it to my room and pay on check out. I asked the waiter how i would order breakfast the next day as i didn’t have an order form and he told me to go down to reception and pick one up. He also told me that other guests had experienced issues with their credit cards not having been verified so they could charge food to their rooms. If the hotel knew about the problems they have done nothing to rectify them.
upgrade for members excellent value. Executive rooms very comfortable.
steps at front entrance no ramp for cases ... standard room mattress poor.
Staff friendlyness Easy check in/out Room was a very high standard
Staff could not do enough for us. Very friendly and helpful. We were so pleased with the hotel and value for money. Can't wait to return.
The staff are really friendly and nothing is too much trouble. had another lovely stay here. highly recommended.
Very convenient location for wedding in Woodley and easily reached from motorways. Reading hotels are good value at weekends. This one was much better than others we have used in the town. Clean, comfortable, warm.
The flooded car parks + the (attractive) river Loddon really did make it feel as if there was a moat. Joking aside, disabled parking was limited and flooded sections of car parks were problematic.
Great value for money in well kept hotel with excellent staff
Closure of restaurant and lounge bar for christmas party meant we had to visit the attached Poachers pub which is part of the hotel. It's fine but a dangerous walk over a narrow road bridge with no footpath. It's rare to be offered a high vis jacket for a walk to a pub!
We played board games all evening, while our house was being renovated. Very comfortable stay, plenty of room for all of us. Nice clean decor.
Friendly staff, upgraded, superb value for money, quiet at night even though a function was in full swing, room temp bang on, clean, great breakfast. Overall excellent stay
Nothing to report
As always we are made so welcome by the staff especially Jenny on reception. Good room and great breakfast.
Bath was a little slow to empty but Jenny took details to get it fixed.
The main car park and access were flooded but lovely staff helped my partially handicapped wife get into the hotel without any trouble.
Charging £10 per night for each dog was a bit steep, esp as the floor was wooden.... £10 per dog per stay should be enough surely?
spacious and calm
Breakfast was hectic
love the big bed and the design of the hotel recommend the mix grill best Ive ever had and don't foget to vist the poachers bar over the bridge at the back of the hotel real ale very nice
The location was excellent - short taxi ride to Bearwood Lakes Golf Course. Bed and Breakfast was great - very efficient.
The staff were very efficient but lacked Friendliness and humanity -
Comfortable room, good TV, good restaurant food.
Website said full breakfast was £7.50/head extra. We were told at reception it was £10 but when we appeared for breakfast we were told it was £14.95 without tokens which we had not been given. This was resolved however and we eventually paid £10. The price of the room for three nights was £317, but the receptionist on departure told us it had been put down as £517, although she agreed it should have been £317 despite being muddled. Food in the adjoining pub was very poor and you cannot reach it without crossing very hazardous bridge with continuous traffic and no footpath. Why is there no internal access? Very strange.
Great location for nirvana spa
On site pub leaves a lot to be desired - screaming for a facelift!
