Almost everything. Well run, good breakfast, excellent atmosphere for relaxing.
There was only one restaurant within an half hour walk and it didn't open until 6 PM. If you don't have a car this place would not work for you at all.
The surroundings were very relaxing.
Breakfast isn't served until 8 am. I had an interview at 8 so was forced to go on an empty stomach.
Room a bit small and dark but very comfortable
wedding on and music loud but it stopped exactly at midnight..
Surroundings Breakfast Convenient to walk into Cambridge centre/colleges.
No evening meal facility
we stayed at the main house for 2 days in the family room with our son. It was very spacious and very comfortable. The staff greeted us at the door when we arrived and were very helpful. We would definitely stay there again.
breakfast a bit expensive so we went into town to have our breakfast.
Reasonable access to City via park n ride. Comfort, position, the staff, cleanliness, facilities in room.
The price of English breakfast option at 20.00 each!
Breakfast should be included in the price of stay , not as an extra
Comfort of the rooms Attentive Staff Good all round service
Overall a very pleasant short stay, would return for a holiday break.Staff extremely pleasant and main house beautifully furnished.
Breakfast not available for an early start, before 8 00 am. Breakfast 8---9am,fine if you are a tourist, but not for an early business appointment Noticeable traffic noise from the motorway in the gardens----but not in the house.
Lovely breakfast conservatory. Food beautifully set out. Room totally comfortable. Proprietor friendly and helpful. In peaceful rural setting although not far from M11 you could not see or hear a car!
Nothing not to like.
Lovely location Very positive welcome
Only constructive comment would be to have an easy chair in the room as it was a large room but only bed or desk chair to sit on
Swimming pool- footpath to village- lovely choice of food at breakfast. Beautiful furnishings and close toCambridge
Surrounding grounds lovely. Would not know you were very close to the M40. Nice tidy and clean room (smaller then we thought it would be from photos though) Great location, nice walk to Cambridge -very flat all the way. ..
Not being able to booking in until 4pm. Communication was not very good. Fan in bathroom was on all the time even with light off, not good if you got very good hearing. .
Property is lovely and the house has a typical English ambience. There is a lovely tree lined driveway and the accommodation is clean. The Park and Ride bus is nearby so easy to visit to Cambridge.
We stayed in the Lodge which is a separate property within the grounds. we had my Sister with us so it made it more cost effective for her not to have to pay for a single room. But whilst it does make it clear the Lodge is in need of renovation, we felt that it should be updated as a matter of urgency.
Wonderful location. Excellent value for money. Amazing staff
Roger Pool Grounds Location Traditional feel Modern chalet
Really nice rooms and staff, incredibly picturesque with animals roaming the fields, through which a very nice pub is just a ten minute walk. The facilities are great as well, with a pool and tennis court, breakfast and bar. Highly recommended!
For some reason, we got upgraded to a suite, so my evaluation may not apply so much to the other rooms, I don't know. I will single out a few of the many virtues of this hotel. The breakfast dining room in the main house offers a full view of the beautiful garden, the breakfast itself was excellent. Lounge room is very comfortable with typical british interior. Our suite was huge, with full sized kitchen. Parking direct next to the building.
Three sofas in the "living room" is a bit of an overkill, exchange one for an exta normal bed may be an idea?
Quiet, warm and secluded B&B in a very convenient 'out of town' location just ten minutes from the centre of Cambridge.
Wifi internet was a little sporadic and the bed mattress could have been a little firmer but that of course is personal taste
Excellent value for money great customer service highly recommendable
Excellent position, near to Cambridge city centre, 5 minutes to park and ride. Staff friendly, helpful, knew their stuff. Room comfortable and clean, shower was brilliant! DVD player and DVDs to borrow a really nice touch.
Rather warm in the room. Continental breakfast (not taken) was a bit pricey at £10 per head. "Local" pub was a reasonable walk through fields, wood and lane - not the 10 minute walk advertised. Was also pretty unpleasant on way back in the pitch dark. But the pub itself was very nice with good food and friendly staff.
Excellent B&B a few miles outside Cambridge. Park & Ride within easy walking distance for an easy journey into Cambridge. Excellent accommodation in pleasant surroundings. Very good pub within 10 minutes walk with excellent restaurant. Would highly recommend.
Breakfast not included and it is expensive a an extra, but if you don't want to pay for it there are plenty of alternatives in Cambridge.
Good room location but better lighting between it and house required for the night time. Room was spacious, warm and restful. Re. question 1, No boxes fit my situation which was mother & son.( Mature couple is not accurate.)
Very difficult to find in the dark; poor signage, badly lit, too small. Could not prise open my bedroom door, too heavy for an elderly person. Not happy with extra charges for a cooked breakfast; that isn't necessary. Shower over bath cramped and awkward. No tissues provided.
- The warm welcome - The main house - The magnificent gardens - Easily accessible (Park & Ride bus, Madingly Road) to and from Cambridge City Centre
- The fact that it's not entirely clear the facility is a B&B when you book through third party (it's listed as a hotel), and check in is only after 16:00 BST - The squeaky floorboards in the chalet (especially early in the mornin when you still want to sleep)
