Not staying longer!
the warm welcome on arrival and entertainment was brill. cant fault the staff especially Jan her company was nice. BIG HELLO TO JAN
you cant find anything as you know rooms are basic but that's what you pay for and are aware b4 booking but still good.
landlord Mike was a hoot and he couldn't have done more to make our stay a good experience! Local 11 piece Ukelele band on the Sat. night we were there. We'll be back...
Friendly staff, good food (large portions and reasonable priced), comfortable bed and quiet surroundings
Décor a little dated but did not detract from our stay
The staff couldn't do enough for us even though it was an extremely busy Saturday night. Very large meals for very low prices bring people from far and wide. As we were leaving very early before breakfast was served the landlord provided us with packed lunches to take away.
It was very cheap (but you get what you pay for accommodation wise). Good atmosphere in bar and excellent food which was also very reasonably priced. Helpful staff.
The main building was like a building site. Generally very tatty with things falling off wall in room and toilet. Very small and tatty showers down hall. The smallest TV I've ever seen.
The friendliness of staff and the food
Friendly staff - was on a cycling weekend so they garaged my bike - good breakfast i.e. no cheap catering sausages here.
would of been nice if on-suite etc but what do you expect for £30 - so good value
The food was amazing with great sized portions, great and friendly service, upgraded to an ensuite room which was clean and spacious, excellent location and very good ale. Definitely could not fault apart from the WiFi not working. Will definitely return.
quick check in, friendly and helpful staff and good food, drink and service.
had a room at the front of the hotel, and there were some heavy trucks passing through the town all night. H.G.V. drivers should think of the noise that they make, if they were to slow down they would make life more bareable for people trying to sleep. NOT THE HOTEL'S FAULT
Great friendly staff who couldn't do enough for you.. Amazing value for money food.. With friendly locals.. The room was lovely and spacious.
Nothing to dislike.. Can't fault a thing
Rooms were dark and dingy and in urgent need of a clean and modernisation. Carpet was full of bits, bin was full of used tissues, half empty bottle of water on the side and the rattan framed bed was literally falling apart. We stayed in the room 5 minutes and left to find somewhere else.
the food was ok
it was like a building site and the shower and toilet facilities were very sub-standard. Beds were also of a very poor quality
helpfulness of staff; character of the building; good breakfast
limited size of shower - NOT suitable for larger people!; very limited car parking available (I had to park in town's car park: fortunately no charge 6pm - 8am or on Sundays); frequent traffic noise.
Food and bar were excellent, the staff were friendly
Our room was atrocious !! The sheets on the bed were stained, the towels provided were just as bad, the bathroom didn't have cold water and the toilet leaked over the floor, had to go and buy quilt cover to sleep in as we couldn't find anywhere else to stay
the place has kind helpful staff and it is very cheap to stay at
the place is in very poor condition and you have to prepare yourself for that
I stopped for 2 nights .Staff is excellent, very helpful and friendly. The food is excellent, the restaurant was full and meal is very tasty. I stopped in the begging of October and the central heating was not working I asked Mike and he brought little heater in my room.
I had a room with shared bathroom and toilets, and bathroom was not clean, mouldy and nobody was cleaning , very small and no where to put your toiletries .if you travelling by car it is limited space in car park as well but its old building.
A great host very friendly and helpful breakfast nice
Rooms not clean cobwebs hanging off lampshades and very dusty
The staff went out of their way to help us get all our luggage to the canal boat.
Helpful staff in a busy pub/restaurant. My room was clean and spacious. Wifi everywhere. Shared toilet and shower room are both cramped
The light bulb was so dim! And in a dark shade. too Suggest you take your own bulb! No bedside light either. Pub presently going through structural repairs going by the internal scaffolding.
16 th., century inn, with excellent food and cast conditioned beers at a very reasonable price. We received an up-grade in our room, which was nice. The inn has a resident ghost, but not met on this visit. We shall return.
