Central for easy walking to wide choice of restaurants. Friendly staff particularly the receptionist. Nice quiet smoking area. Toilet roll has been upgraded since last visit. |

The Hotel was central to Basingstoke, room very comfortable, good size, bathroom slightly dated, but clean enough. |

It was easy to find and convenient to the centre of Basingstoke. The rooms were clean and comfortable. There was a good choice of food for breakfast and I thought it was very good value for money. |

Room I was allocated was in the new block and did not have th many failings that the ones in the older part of the hotel do. Breakfast service continues to be slow and selection remains limited. Bar OK but would never recommend the food. |

The self service Breakfast was superb and very very good quality. Also member of staff acted very quickly when my husband requested an extra bath towel(very impressed). Unfortunately yes.1) The shower curtain was a bit smelly. 2) The rooms were quite hot and although I had a Fan which helped My daughter did not in her room, therefore did not have a good nights sleep even with the window open. |

The hotel staff were lovely, and the location great, but the furnishings, eg carpets beds furniture all look old & tired, so was disappointed with this |

The staff were friendly and efficient, car parking was easy, the lift worked and the breakfast was nice. There were insufficient towels and toiletries for 2 people despite paying for 2 people. The room was tired, bedding tired, blankets old and tatty, pillows pathetic. One lamp bulb broken and TV picture poor. |

Staff were friendly and attentive at all times without being at all intrusive. Room was spotlessly clean, comfortable and very well equipped including wi-fi internet connection. Bistro menu was fine for the few days I was there but I wouldn't have chosen the Red Lion for a special night out. Portion size on some meals seemed excessive. |

We liked the attentivness and the kindness of your waiters nothing was too much trouble for them. All the meals were good but the breakfast was excellent. We did not find the tea and coffee facilities till we were leaving, they seemed to be hidden away in a drawer. |

We arrived late on a Friday night by bicycle and the staff couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful in finding us a safe place to store them safely overnight We stayed bed and breakfast and drank the pot of tea on the table and then asked if we could have another. I was horrified and appalled and in disbelief to find, checking the bill when I got home, that we had been charged £6.80 for 4 x tea ~ ie £1.70 per cup. Maybe you should consider printing a warning sign for your teapots notifying unwary guests of the risk of extreme damage to their wallets. |

The central location of the hotel was good and the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was ok, but the shower was poor and the kettle didn't work |

Restaurant facilities excellent with meals available at all times and very good food. Very helpful reception staff who responded to requests immediately. Spare pillows in wardrobe had obviously been used before. Taps in bathroom very worn and shower head completely blocked. |

The ease of parking, the very friendly receptionist, the location in relation to shops and restaurants The bathroom needs some updating. Breakfast could do with a better selection and the staff at breakfast could be a little more cheerful |
